Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Well that was weird. A spam bot with the same name and profile pic as the website it tried to promote. No, I did not click on that.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupRe: the Animated Film debate: I voted against it because I was concerned it would lead to confusion along with unaddressed concerns regarding the grouping of Anime and Western Animation films vs series.
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI voted against it because the crowner was rushed and there were many unaddressed concerns
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallIn terms of raw source code, YMMV.Gary Glitter is almost 20% bigger than Music.Gary Glitter.

I'm more surprised we get spam bots. I would have expected that they would have difficulty with the 'custom' forum software, and see little bang for buck.
All of the quotes in Quotes.Insult Of Endearment are from Neon Genesis Evangelion fanfics and center around Asuka calling someone "stupid/baka". In fact, I see plenty of quotes from certain Eva fics in many Quotes pages. Were they popular during TV Tropes' earlier days? It would make sense if they were popular around the same time NGE-specific WMG's (like "this series is NGE post Instrumentality") were everywhere.

SING TO ME, LEND ME THE SONG OF BLASPHEMYI do remember someone pointing out that (at least at one point) the fanworks folder on Fiery Redhead had like 20 examples for Eva fics that boiled down to "Asuka, as in canon", which I thought was hilarious.
@Piterpicher: i figured if there was one, it would be something highly controversial, and i was right!
what are the thumbs-up buttons on queries actually supposed to accomplish? mods check every ATT query anyway, don't they? and it's not like they get more attention on TF or YKTS queries, because thumbing a query doesn't bump it.

As a fellow Kirby fan (see: my username), I agree
I feel like I'm seeing more TLP drafts and queries about alibis lately?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. My theory on the Eva quotes is that they're all from one troper, who likes adding quotes to quotes pages and reads a lot of Eva fanfiction. I have a similar theory on why so much Common Crossover misuse was found on Nickelodeon-related pages in the wick check for that trope.
On a similar note, every single example in the Fan Works folder on Porky Pig Pronunciation is from a Harry Potter fic.
I've just exceeded 200 to-do list items. Really should start to put these things into good use...

My TRS to-do list is getting pretty long itself. I already have some open wick checks for some of them—I've got to get back on them.
I randomly got recommended on Twitter this list of old shipping terms
. Most of these are fanfic tropes on this site.
