Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I think most people just make TLPs of things they don't see covered already. Only certain people focus on specific topics.
I don't have a niche but a quite a few of the tropes I launched for TLP (and out of TLP) have been for TRS projects.

Macron's notesMy style of making TLP drafts is... not making them. I don't feel confident in my ability to do so, so anything TLP-related I do is either nuking drafts that are redundant with tropes created due to ongoing TRS efforts (such as how I nuked a Supernatural Is Blue draft after Supernatural Is Green and Supernatural Is Purple were merged into Technicolor Magic), or simply commenting on drafts (whether it's something that came from a TRS thread or if I just happen to be passing through).
I guess the former just ties into my niche being TRS, since it's TRS-adjacent.

I got a rock for Halloween.I don't have a particular style, I just make drafts for any concepts that jump out at me.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallMy current launched tropes are Cute Creature, Creepy Mouth and Fuzzball Spider, and I may make a draft for designs that are pretty much "skulls with spider-like legs", so my draft type may be spooky creature designs.
Welcome To Ideals' WorldOk, so this may be an odd observation, but on a lot of older TLP drafts, I keep running to comments left behind by a troper named DAN004 who has this PFP.
I don't know, I just find them to be a stand-out feature on early-to-mid 2010s TLP drafts.

Here's a question: what is the most pre-2010s entry you've ever found?
Read Pokemon Ultimate Emerald![]()
Can't talk for a single entry, but for an idea of how bad natter could get, use the Wayback Machine to look up Real Women Don't Wear Dresses before November 2011. Even the description was a pain to read.
Characters.SSU Eddie Brock Venom has the most lopsided folder split ive ever seen. there are only three letters representing fully half of Eddie Brock's tropes.
Over in this
thread, ljcool2006Backup just unearthed some of the oldest archives of this site by digging up the original URL! What he found is pretty incredible, we even have a glimpse of what work pages used to look like here
.
It's interesting which shows were considered worthy of pages early on, with even some shows beloved by the site missing. Blake's 7 but no Futurama?
And is Buffy there twice (once normal once as an acronym)?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. Now I'm really curious to see what TV Tropes looked like back when it was just a Buffy fansite. Are there any archives of the Buffistas thread that birthed this site at all?
SING TO ME, LEND ME THE SONG OF BLASPHEMYI do remember seeing such a thread years ago; perhaps ~eyebones or ~Morgan Wick know.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
Yes, eyebones is Fast Eddie. His new profile page mentions that.

I got a rock for Halloween. It's funny reading Public Domain Soundtrack and seeing how much more frequently 18th and 19th classical music is used in media then I previously thought.
"Give our Captain back, you jerks!"I've noticed that a few posters on the cleanup threads tend to specialize in a single subject: one guy has RWBY, another has wrestling, and there are probably some others that I'm missing. To me it's the most apparent in the anti-complaining thread. I guess you could call this a Single-Issue Wonk, but I just find it interesting.

Guys how cool would it be if Super Megaforce had a green ranger...It's not a Single-Issue Wonk if they don't wonk over it. I mostly edit pages and add examples for whatever I hyperfixate on. So right now it's a blend of How I Met Your Mother and Total Drama.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
Same here. We all have are particular interests, it just becomes a problem if we get solely focused on one little aspect and/or Righting Great Wrongs.
I don't like it when Single-Issue Wonk is being used to describe editors making legitimate edits.

I’m not active in drafting tropes yet but if I ever do it’ll probably be music tropes for me as well—that’s also my expertise.
