One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

This message was brought to you by someone whose face was two inches away from the screen a few minutes earlier.

That's because it's near impossible to make something that small with actual circles.

It's just simple MS Paint usage that can tell you that everything uses straight edges. Simple design knowledge.(well, if one attempts to use it, respectively) It's one of those "easy to figure out" things.

Not seeing the difference with the other emoticons. What really stands out, however, is cool.

Honestly, I see no real difference between Wallbanger and Dethoning Moment of Suck. By this point, the entries on either kind of page seem no more or less severe than the other.

Here's a short thread that discusses the differences, and how they're used interchangeably. For that MLP page, the massive notice is needed because that's such a contentious show. Its DMOS page has an extra commented-out notice too, and has been doing fairly well.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

No, I get how they're supposed to be different, but...well, Fighteer in that thread puts it best:

All of the above are why I no longer bother to care about anything in those so-called tropes. Narm, DMOS, Wall Banger, Jumped the Shark... these are all dead to me as useful concepts.
While I do see use in Narm and Jumped the Shark, I agree wholeheartedly with the spirit of that post. They're essentially no more than Complaining About Shows You Dont Like (only without necessarily disliking the show itself), etc.

More like an outhouse, in this case.

Actual Observation: Some pages fall so back into people's minds that you wouldn't no we had a no natter or no whining policy. I watched Troy recently as I usually end up doing, went to the trope page to read up on the trope usage. Plenty of the stuff we've been trying to get rid of is still there (Note to Self: Finish cleaning Troy) and that's part of the problem when new editors are introduced to Tv Tropes from one of those less popular pages than no one noticed needed cleaning, they take that as how articles are supposed to look.

Way, way too much My Little Pony for Hilarious in Hindsight. Not every show that ever existed was an omen for the ungodly, supreme, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

On the Mark Hamill page. Is it just me, or is that not exactly a very flattering picture of him? Aside from the smiling, it almost kinda looks like a mug shot. And his eyes...it's like they're staring into your soul O_O

[up][up]Fair enough, but I know I've seen better pictures of him post-crash. (And for what it's worth, I don't think he's a bad looking guy.)

[up] Back in the '70s he was in a motorcycle crash, though he ended up mostly fine. Still, his face sustained some pretty heavy hitting. And now you know why he's wearing so much makeup in the Star Wars Holiday Special tongue

Every page is legally required to have a My Little Pony reference. I saw a reference to it on the Good Ol' Boy page. Despite the fact that that page is about country old white (usually human) males.

This tends to happen with fad media.

I've found that generally, after said things are no longer popular, the examples will be edited out where they don't belong. Which, incidentally, is most places they are posted.

Related to what I was saying earlier, the Clock King's entry on the Batman The Animated Series character page needs a serious rewrite. I should do it myself, honestly.

edit: In fact, I will.

This was the worst bit;

Cosmic Plaything: Fugate's life is governed by events and rules that defy either coincidence or logical explanation. Following Laser-Guided Karma, as long as the Clock King does things with discipline (as efficiently as possible) will guarantee that he can pull those Gambit Roulettes. The Universe grants him No Delays For The Wicked, and so conspires with him to win. However, if the Clock King indulges in Bond Villain Stupidity or dares to make something unplanned, like the Indy Ploy, the Universe conspires against him enforcing Finagle's Law.

No one who's new to the wiki is going to understand that. Indeed, I'm not sure people who aren't new are going to understand it.
