Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Fashion-Victim Villain just got a bunch of new videos; I rarely see a trope gain that many videos in a short time
I think they're all Miraculous Ladybug, so it's probably the same uploader.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall![]()
Happened with Showdown at High Noon too, except they were all from different sources.
They are all from the same uploader. Some people just really some like some tropes. They aren't tropes that make me question the person's fixation on them so I am fine with it.
Macron's notes... I have never added a single video of mine to Video Source actually (just didn't think to do it until now).
That said I think it is better to aim for quality over quantity when it comes to video examples, since not everyone is gonna have the time or patience to watch all of them so some will for sure get lost in the shuffle. I'd rather have a trope page with 3 stellar and concise video examples with interesting sound + visuals than 10 mid ones but eh

Strikethrough markup works on forums, but not the wiki itself. I was posting the first draft of my reorganization of a page, noticed that there was a small portion of text scratched out that I haven't read before (and apparently missed when I was porting it over to Notepad) when I read it, and I got so confused.
Guys how cool would it be if Super Megaforce had a green ranger...Strike through was disabled on the wiki a long time ago because it was abused and there wasn't much use for it on the wiki.

Macron's notes
I remember seeing some color markup on a few pages, so maybe it was added back in in the future?
Colored text works on the wiki but Text Formatting Rules only allows it for "quoting Rainbow Speak or for self-demonstration" (introductory colors on Color Tropes fall under the latter). Gratuitous use should be cut.
Colored text works now because an update fixed it somehow. Before that, it was disabled for years.

Macron's notesThe only video example I uploaded so far is from Carole & Tuesday.
SING TO ME, LEND ME THE SONG OF BLASPHEMYNo, that particular markup has been disabled site wide. That's why the laconic is locked. Editing it will turn the colors black. So, that's the only place where that markup works.

Macron's notes
Considering some of the knowledge that's been dropped in this thread, it kinda feels like the foundation of this site is made of bubblegum, paperclips, and copies of Pokémon Red/Green.
Kinda have the urge to just smash my keyboard and hit "Post" just to see if it'll cause shenanigans to the formatting of this thread, ngl.

I remember back in 2014(?), that something broke and certain people were able to access mod tools. Of course some of them used this to troll people and were promptly bounced.
Macron's notesHoly shit I'd love to see some remnants of that period.
Imagine thumping random people or locking random threads.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

tfw randomly learn that a popular movie got a surprizing spin-off and now you're off to make a page for it.
