Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Well the page is indeed made in 2013, and by the time we've got standards, the page sunk into obscurity so noone fixed it.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWe do have Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining and the anti-complaining
thread, if pages have negative writing then they should be rewritten.
The YMMV pages for a lot of those works are amusing in that even when someone admits to liking an element of it, it's like there's this unspoken rule that they still need to throw in a "But outside of this, the work is utter shit!" or "Looks like these idiots could do one thing right" in order to remind the reader that the work as a whole is bad and stupid.
Using Values Dissonance as an "um, actually" in a YMMV example doesn't work when there are available sources proving that what you're saying isn't a widespread thing or the target audience in the home country had the same reaction as foreigners, and I'm tiring of seeing it.

I… only have two pages. Honestly I don’t really edit much outside of just deleting entries after bringing them to the cleanup threads.
I’m gonna put some Gloom in your eye.
Same here. I rarely edit outside of cleanup and TRS stuff.
370 pages boyeeee!
It would not be nearly that large without wick cleaning.

8, most of my edits are cleaning of some sort, although I do have some additive edits (and a pet page... don't judge me!)

"Grandmaster Combat, son!"To be fair, I am a bad Serial Tweaker myself. Doesn’t help that a lot of the shows I watch either have little coverage here or shockingly have no pages at all (I’m personally surprised we didn’t have a page on Terry and June for the longest time but it exists now).
I just saw "this troper" used unironically in an entry for something that came out in 2020. While we have a lot of issues lingering from the early days, that phrase seems so discouraged that I didn't realize people still did that, unless they're really out of the loop. (It was on a Funny page for SNL, for context — a troper giving a personal anecdote to explain why something was Truth in Television. So yeah it was borderline Troper Tales-y.)

I was on mobile on a train, when I usually avoid editing mistakes due to bad wi-fi, but that stuck out to me so badly that I deleted it the minute I had wi-fi.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.History says the adder is an old-timer. So, yeah, they've just not caught up to the times, I guess...
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI feel like fairly frequently I go to edit a page and I know what I want to change, so I Ctrl+F to get to where I'm trying to go... and it pulls me to the Edit Tip at the top of the page, which just happens to have the word I'm trying to find in the page's contents. It mainly happens when I try to change "[[spoiler: " and happen to receive one of the tips about spoilers, but I just went to make an edit on Kirby to add Easter Egg examples and I Ctrl+F searched "Early" to get to the Early-Installment Weirdness wick... and I got "Edit Tip #19: Please read Example Indentation as early and as often as possible."
Side note, that link is red because the wick in the tip popup version of that one directs to the main page instead of the Administrivia page.

Just 10 days ago
someone added what basically amounted to a Troper Tales example on Springtime for Hitler.

Yet another troper from like 2012 who's continued using those rules...
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallJust in general it sets me off when old tropers still use terms like YKTTW. There seems to be a tendency for them to be the ones who edit poorly now because they never bothered to update their own habits in pace with our policy updates.
My musician page

It's amazing how a work will attract an entire fandom's worth of complaining, but once it's out of the spotlight, said complaints can just... linger for ages because nobody cares about the work.
This observation was a result of my efforts to remove complaining from Pokémon: Genesect and the Legend Awakened and its subpages, which have enough 2013-era salt for me to season my popcorn for a month.
Cave Johnson, we're done here.
