One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I just noticed that there are no PS5 or Xbox Series examples on ObviousBeta.Video Games, because the Switch is lumped in with the eighth-generation consoles.note
The Switch is a bit of an oddball that doesn't fit cleanly into the "generations" categorization that we've been using for the past few decades. It's a successor to the Wii U, yes, but its main competitors for the first four years of its existence were also the Wii U's competitors, the Xbox One and PS4. And assuming the Switch's successor releases in late 2023/early 2024, then it will have spent three years competing with the XSX and PS5. Nintendo is just off the wider generational cadence for gaming hardware, and I don't see them ever syncing back up unless a future console is a Wii U-level failure.
TLDR: Switch is just as much an 8th generation console as it is a 9th generation console, and their future hardware will probably be similar stories.

Certain entries on Obvious Beta (particularly the Video Games subpage) feature lots of complaining and snark. I know that by nature, the trope has kind of negative connotations, but even then, a lot of it seems quite unnecessary.
Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsWith that in mind, on closer inspection, there are a surprising number of entries that completely contradict that, as they outright say that the game in question "isn't as bad as other examples on this page".
Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsThat's not allowed by the way. Examples shouldn't refer to back to each other. I have found entries that refer back to since deleted entries on trope pages more than once.

After some time the concept of console generations and Console Wars became so blurry it's effectively meaningless.
Today was the first and last time I've checked the OTC forums because I feel I'm rather sensitive and I already have enough "real life" in social medias. I'm not elaborating. TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup
The Art namespace is one of my favorites in the site; maybe because it has less tropable content, but it is pretty straightforward and even informative.
oh hey how are you doing?![]()

Some people do. The Eighth Generation Of Console Video Games page lumps it in with the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X as an 8½ gen.
Huh, didn't even know we had that namespace. Awesome.

There's only one My Little Pony character on Pantheon.Ungulates. That shows a remarkable amount of restraint.
Honestly, if My Little Pony's big popularity spike happened more recently, there probably wouldn't be as many characters from it in the Pantheon period, with how the standards have changed over time. At the very least, there would probably be more instances of characters sharing tropes.
Also, is there a cleanup effort for Video Games? Because it kind of seems like it could use one.
Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsIt's always a bit surreal to remember that the concept of console generations was invented by Wikipedia for an internal project.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.I love the image on Don't You Dare Pity Me!, it illustrates a dialogue trope perfectly through body language and lighting without a single letter.
I wanted to talk about how oddly vague some of the Transformers trope examples were, but it turns out I was imagining it. Here's the entry in mind I was going to talk about, from What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?:
- Transformers: Prime was touted by a director as an "adult transformers series he wanted to make". When you get down to it, it's a miracle they got by with the main combatants all being robots, as this series features a number of themes on War Is Hell and would be pretty graphic if done with people. Other events and themes include kidnapping via internet spying, the Death of a Child almost occurring, references to chemical warfare, named characters being dissected or beaten to death by a protagonist's bare hands, the main villain uses Domestic Abuse on the other villain, and other serious issues like drug abuse or suicide via Heroic Sacrifice.

The Prince of Egypt really is a masterpiece, and I also can't think of a better image to illustrate the trope. Dialogue-driven tropes are always tricky, but that scene really shows a powerful moment with nothing more than lights, expressions and gestures.

oh hey how are you doing?I've discovered that italicizing The Bible is inconsistent across the size, and I guess it makes sense to some since it's often called "the first book" (not historically), but I still think it should be treated like a book name.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI still don’t know why the hell Late to the Action doesn’t show up in the recent Launches list.

I make work pages for obscure stuff so I get excited when I see people contribute to the pages which I assume they found via crosswicked tropes.
