Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Good news, got my first notifier for "general example", I'll ask in reply for ideas how to "ungeneralize" it.
e: We've talked it out, but I feel scarred that it happened eventually.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupA funny thing I've noticed: A few people have complimented me for knowing programming in general, but the only programming thing I've ever mentioned on site (notification script) has yet to get a comment despite asking so for a month.
Tbf, I've been neglecting working on it, so maybe I should keep it updated. And I should help out in TRS/IP more often.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI think we talked about media that was crosswicked a bunch on this wiki. Well, I've been noticing a bit of an uptake in times I've seen Chaotic mentioned...

Guys how cool would it be if Super Megaforce had a green ranger...Sorry if talking about our own contributions is atypical, but I found from an IP thread that Short-Distance Phone Call is a trope that exists, and a video example I uploaded on Shrinking Violet a few months ago fits that trope better, so I deleted it and reuploaded it onto the formerly mentioned trope. Videos got approved earlier than I expected this time, so that's nice.
Only in hindsight did I consider that asking for a move in the Video Moderation Requests thread may have been an option, but I think it's better that I did the effort myself since I could.
When you're alone I'm reaching out to let you know that you're far from strangers, like the saviorWhat are the orange links? I can't figure out what's common between the few I've seen.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThey're links to wiki functions instead of actual trope/work/Administrivia pages. Ask The Tropers goes right to that section of the site. I believe the term is "hard-coded redirect"?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I guess so, but it seems to be a leftover from site's older days. Tropes Needing Examples is orange. Ask The Tropers Plus Some Random Text will appear orange (a bug?). Query Bugs and Trope Finder are still blue.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWhat's the purpose of the It Just Awes Me! board? From what I've seen it just looks like a discount Yack Fest. I don't see any stickies that inticate what it could be about either.
Guys how cool would it be if Super Megaforce had a green ranger...It was meant as a counterpart to the It Just Bugs Me sub forum, not a replacement. It was created with the idea to balance IJBM's negativity with a place primarily for gushing about things you liked or found interesting.
It never really took off like IJBM though, since strife and drama just naturally breed more engagement. And then when IJBM was nuked it lost that idea of being a balancing force, so now it just does its own thing.
I see. From what I can see it's just a general chat forum but more unhinged, right?

To change the subject I've started to sort the Advertising Narm examples in a Notepad draft. I'm still fairly new and I'm not sure if doing such a big thing is the right course of action for me, but I'm gonna do it
Alphabetized old advertising entries on the wiki is hard because so many entries just... don't even name the company.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Honestly every advertising page has some issues with shoehorns or informal examples or bashing, and I've thought about making a full cleanup thread for them. I will probably do that later.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.A nice troper has added a note to the top of Tally Hall directing editors to fix misplaced links. I didn't know how to indicate that when I deleted a bunch of entries.
To answer anyone's questions, I'm not alphabetizing them. I'm sorting them by which type of ad they are (PSA, political, other).
Anyways, every so often I visit the Ho Yay page for Channel Awesome for some cheap laughs and I keep forgetting the fact that the page was made in 2019 and not in like 2008 or something
That's because it was at HoYay.That Guy With The Glasses for years until it got moved to the name for the new website. Trust me, the shit on that page is a relic of an older, weirder wiki.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Lately I've been considering taking a break, but with me having a few open projects simultaneously, it would be "irresonsible" to not work on them or to leave them to someone else. I'm afraid dealing with a lot of text affects my ability to read, which is as bad of a practice as it's bad of an excuse, so if I don't start focusing on one thing at a time I'll soon be asked to.

This is the wrong thread to announce that. You may want to go to this thread
instead.
I'm doing a cleanup of Referenced by… pages and I'm noticing how everyone of those pages for anime and manga series haves at least one example from The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You.

Same, probably since it's the closest we have to a Real Life page now. I can't read most of it without getting paranoid.
