Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Tropes are being launched from the Trope Launch Pad at a remarkable rate nowadays. It's almost like a factory. I don't think the rate of new tropes was that fast a few years ago, but I can't remember.
EDIT: All activity in TLP is super fast lately.

Very good kittyYeah things moved faster than how I remember when it was YKTTW.
I am trying see if I can get past the 100 tropes launched mare within 2 years since I am already halfway there
Macron's notesI feel what I originally wrote is too inflammatory but lesser or obscure works with pages on this site tend to not be well-written or have a lot of bad examples.
Who here has ever heard of Radix: Beyond The Void? The page has a lot of ZC Es
Edited by Dhiruxide on Jun 8th 2020 at 12:30:10 PM
I commented out the ZC Es. But TBH, the page doesnt look that bad and I only needed to comment out like 4 entries. I have seen far worse.
A lot of these pages were created back when we were less strict with ZCE standards. And less they get less traffic, there isnt anyone around to curate and clean them.

Macron's notes
This is how I feel, but for British spelling, when editors replace "armor" with "armour" on pages like Doom Eternal and Quake Champions: Doom Edition. That was most noticeable but they have other British spelling of words as well. What's more baffling is that both works are not from UK as well
I'd do something about it but I feel like I'd engage in an edit war and I'm not sure if I have the nerves for that
Edited by Dhiruxide on Jun 8th 2020 at 5:25:06 PM
Yeaaah not sure how to break it to you, but I'm pretty sure that's edit warring, since we have a first-come first-serve rule for spelling.
though my point still stands, if people keep changing it that should probably be reported.

Well, that’d be jus’ a waste. Why would ya want to deprive the world of such anomaly as yourself?Well British people arent the only people using commonwealth English. A lot of countries use commonwealth spelling as opposed to ones familiar with American spelling.
Macron's notesI had a chat with a troper via P Ms who did change spellings and told me it's spottily enforced or something
Yeah. To add to what Unfortunate said, our rules on American and Commonwealth Spellings are listed on the page.
On You Know That Show, a lot of the people that use it that use their real faces as their profile pic.

Macron's notesWhen it comes to controversies, some threads are willing to talk about them while others are very eager to change topics immediately. For example, the drama around the Smash community has people willing to talk about it in the Youtube, fighting game, and Jim Sterling threads but the Smash thread wants to change the topic every time it's brought up.
The legend has returned.
I have heard it said that Mega Neko was intended as a joke, mocking the wiki's Gratuitous Japanese (then much worse than now) by punning off Meganekko, but then enough valid examples were found that fit the name, and it became a valid trope.
It's probably a Too Clever by Half sort of thing; if you think you're intelligent, anyone arguing with you probably comes off as an accusation of the contrary — a personal attack. Defending their position, then, becomes more a matter of defending their honor.

Do not spare the feelings of those who would not spare yours. In my experience, most people page blank pages here when they want to vandalize stuff.
Macron's notesThe community here is small enough for me to recognize basically every regular in the sections I spend time in, which was a first for any internet community I've been in. It's to the point that I associate people with their specific patterns of speech (or typing) and anyone changing their avatar throws me for a loop.
I wonder what traits the community here associates with me as an individual.
My musician page

I can see why though. We don't trope the fact that someone's straight or gay, after all.
