Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Or adding entries by the thousands on the fan works section of every single trope page.
And for MLPFIM itself. I see it everywhere. 😅
Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. The ones on Forum Games are cool.

"Humans and robots living together in harmony and equality. That was my ultimate wish."That's what I meant. I think?
I thought you meant just for MLP fan works. I'm talking about the show itself.
"Humans and robots living together in harmony and equality. That was my ultimate wish."I mean a lot of the anime fandoms aren't any better. Look at the constant Evangelion mentions in any fanfic trope section.
That too, yes. I honestly wonder who's giving all those damn things work pages.
Considering that NGE got released on Netflix, it doesn't surprise me. There's likely a lot of old-timers that may have had their interest in its fanfics rekindled as well as an influx of new fic writers.

I fail to see what's the big deal.
I mean, if you have a fanfic you'd want in any given trope page, just add it. It doesn't need to have a work page on the site, just link it to where it is hosted.
I do think there might be an issue when a fanfic's tropes overlap with the original story's and you get a lot of repeats.
I remember a while back I was reading the fanfic section for Fiery Redhead and half the examples were Asuka from Evangelion, who already is a Fiery Redhead in the original. I mentioned it in the Discussion page, but I don't think anyone ever responded.
No one ever uses the discussion pages. It's kind of a waste at this point.
Should all be scrapped and the bandwagon used to add a Quote Button.
Overlaps with Odd confessions, but on Google Chrome, I keep it zoomed in to 125% on this site. The normal size, 100%, seems a little too small.
"Humans and robots living together in harmony and equality. That was my ultimate wish."some imgur links to images are already dead by the time i click on them from a page on this wiki. i feel like something should be done to prevent that, but then again we could always just replace them, so it probably isn't a big deal

Links in articles or in forum posts?
If in articles, as a general rule, you avoid using images as much as possible or if you use them you don't use them as examples. Dead links get trimmed out or replaced where possible.
Who watches the watchmen?i see now...
and yeah, i meant articles. i trim them out whenever i notice a dead link
I miss those troper toys that we used to have on the on the side bar of the wiki. It was fun thinking of short story ideas using the story trope generator
Macron's notesYou just gave me nostalgia. I totally forgot about those, but now I miss them too.
"Humans and robots living together in harmony and equality. That was my ultimate wish."There are so many Canadians on this place.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. There are some people who aren't as nice as you've been lead to believe, their friendliness is an act and it's obvious when they're being insincere ,at times I've struggled with the temptation to call them out just to see their act fail further, other times others do that for me and I get a certain amount of validation knowing I was right.
New theme music also a boxYou can take comfort in knowing I'm just as much of a prick as I come across
Had no idea you could follow related to pages until now. Wonder what that does
Macron's notes(Just as a warning, this comment is about some really horrible racist and sexist media, and if you're not prone to Bile Fascination, it could make your day worse just to know about this stuff. But anyway.)
Are there any other pages like the one for FATAL, which briefly notes that FATAL is a famously horrible and bigoted tabletop RPG system, and then says, "Because of the game's content, we're neither providing trope examples nor linking to the rulebook, which can readily be found if you really want to go looking"? The page for Racial Holy War, which (as you can tell already) is an even worse and more bigoted TTRPG, actually includes a trope section, which is mainly there to insult the game and its creators.
I like the Bile Fascination of reading in detail about horrible media (it's a huge guilty pleasure), but the approach of the people who made FATAL's article may honestly be more prudent. Which approach do you think is preferable, and does TV Tropes have any consistent policy on this?
You might want to bring this up on Ask The Tropers. I agree that if there is a policy regarding content like that it should be applied to both pages.
I don't actually know if there is one, though if there is I'm guessing it was applied to FATAL because it gained a lot of notoriousness on this site in the early years for reason you can probably imagine.
The policy only applies to sexual content (to whit, FATAL apparently has rules that allow for paedophiliac relationships).
