I like what I've heard of his - which aside from the hits would be the third album, So and Up... And if we're counting Genesis I can add Selling England By The Pound and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway to that.

I bought Up pretty much because it happened to come out just as I was starting to get into his music - I haven't listened to that one in a while, but I remember the songs I liked off it I really liked. "Darkness" was sort of the standout for me there - I like the deliberate Mood Whiplash between the tense, almost industrial rock-ish verses and the more hopeful, ballad-like chorus.

Lots of people seem to dislike his second album but it’s one of my favourite of his solos; lots of “deep tracks.” It’s the opposite reason I can’t listen to So anymore; the radio pretty much killed that one (except maybe “Milgram’s 17” and “This Is the Picture,” which at least puts it ahead of Wish You Were Here).

His first three solo albums are great, particularly the third one. For me went downhill after that...
I'm not keen on Genesis, the whole prog rock thing isn't for me. 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway' is quite a good song though.
I'm so sorry that my avatar doesn't appear fully in the shot, but the cat was threatening the photographer.I really like all of his albums, to varying degrees (my least favorite would perhaps be Security, the fourth one, or Us, which is only half good in my opinion). He's a very talented songwriter, and there's always something in his music that's worth looking into.
Melt and Up are my faves. Both have extremely strong songs, and a really distinct sound, Melt with it's complete absence of hi-hats and sharp unpleasant harmonies, and Up that features a constant blend of acoustic sonorities infected with electronic processing.
Brilliant artist.
You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here.Well again, it's my least favorites but it doesn't mean I don't like them. I still listen to these albums, and there are always great songs in any PG album, it's more of an overall feeling.
San Jacinto, Shock the Monkey, Rhythm of the Heat, that shit's awesome
About time. Hasn't that record been in Development Hell for a while now?

There doesn't appear to be a thread for this great artist. I'll fix that.
