Never got the impression myself that the Piccolo-pitched bartender was meant to be "sympathetic" beyond knowing a person Qrow's after. Just doing business when he enters and is ready to stab Qrow the moment he mentions knowing the guy who owes money. The background racist sign just adds to his shadiness and hostility more than dampening an attempt of empathy. Qrow paying off the 'debt' is out of respect to his dead friend, not this bloke.
It's questionable whether he was even being truthful about the amount Shiro owed him.
And that's the most I've ever put thought into the dude past noticing Lani voicing him.

Welp, add that to the list of Terrible Ideas That I Knew Were Terrible Ideas But Did Anyway...Yes! V10 is in the works! I'm guessing it's going to be something like V7 but for Vacuo- gathering in the new place, interacting with the refugees and Vacuans, fighting Grimm and Crownsmen, all that jazz. I'm guessing the Summer Maiden is going to be something of a mentor to the other Maidens, and I'm hoping the Relic of Destruction gets used early.
Deleted that Unintentionally Unsympathetic example because there's no attempt made to frame the character as sympathetic when he literally threatens Qrow with a knife.
There’s definitely a common (and asinine) attitude that if a work is disliked or “bad” by someone’s standards, then EVERYTHING about it must be awful and deserves to be trashed and hated. In part, that’s because hating on unpopular works has become cool and trendy, so making up flaws and issues to bash is common just to join the hate bandwagon and prove how trendy the critic is.
It's mostly just a couple of people who spend an inordinate amount of time fixated on posting as many negative things about the show everywhere. I don't know why- maybe they think that if they post enough bad takes, they'll "win" over Miles and Kerry. But even though it might seem like a whole bunch of people, it's really not.
There are a handful who pop up now and then, and I think they mainly come from r/RWBY Critics. Not a lot of other shows out there have entire subreddits devoted to picking apart every inch of them for flaws.
Tiiiick tock... goes the clock... and all the years....In the early days, a couple famous critics literally asked their fans to vandalize our pages, which didn't help.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Plus that's one of the reasons why it is on Sandbox.Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining sandbox page.
Not too long ago, we did create a cleanup thread
, but it hasn't been active at the moment.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Hearing everybody say "Test" is giving me flashbacks to Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Given what Raven Branwen has done throughout the series, I have a question: which of her flaws (if any) do you find very interesting in general?

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. While I can agree Raven's a terrible and flawed person (being a Dirty Coward and all) and has a strained relationship with her relatives (such as Yang and Qrow), I don't think she's a Hate Sink by any means.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Even Summer didn't have much patience for Raven in that last flashback. Though she apparently still trusted Raven enough to bring her along for whatever that fateful mission was.
Raven's not the worst person in RWBY, but you can see why the people who were once closest to her aren't all that pleased with her now.

Disgusted, but not surprised

Okay, so, this was recently added to Unintentionally Unsympathetic, and I have to ask if it's warranted:
Because the main thing is that, as a YMMV trope, I'm pretty sure enough people within the fandom have to actually discuss or make note about a character or story beat for a YMMV entry to be valid. Like how a Broken Base entry requires the fandom to be going back and forth on something in the series for several months on end.
Part of why I'm unsure about this entry stems from the simple fact that this guy is a minor, nameless character that appears for one scene and never again. And as far as I've seen, no one talks about this character at all, which makes any entry about him on a YMMV page suspect because... are enough people talking about him to really warrant an entry?
