I could definitely see a "why" for how to do it. Can add some interesting elements to Qrow's and Ruby's relationship. A father who gives his child to another to raise because his powers and choice of path guarantee she's not safe being near him is a perfectly compelling idea to me. That's not even getting into the implications such a situation would bring to Summer Rose.
There's been a Raven joke in every Chibi skit. The joke is that she isn't there.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyMy biggest thing against the theory is, besides nothing actually indicating or implying it, is that it wouldn't even be necessary. Nothing we've found out, not even Qrow's bad luck semblance, actually provides a suitable reason for why they couldn't at least tell her. It'd be drama for drama's sake and not anything actually meaningful.
But, I've come to realize that most fans don't actually think about these things and just go "Qrow is cool! He should totally be Ruby's father!" regardless of how little sense that actually makes. It's basically the same reason you had people insisting that Sokka had to be the father of at least one of Toph's daughters.

sure bit it just pile up how little Ruby have with taiyang, not having any kind of color mofit and so own....it just feel out.
Also for most part Ruby is the only person Qrow treat with kindess, even he a be a little blunt ok Yang but with her he barely hold is usual persona.
Over all it kinda make sense rather that just said "hell some kid just dosent look like their parents"
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"No, it really doesn't. Some people don't resemble one parent while greatly favoring the other, and "cool uncle" has been Qrow's thing to begin with. More so with Ruby, but also with Yang.
Genetics is funny like that, especially in fiction where it can be however the author wants. Which is another sticking point to me by the way, Ruby doesn't look more like Qrow than Taiyang, she looks basically identical to Summer, from what little we've seen of her.
Speaking of which, I've actually seen people seriously discuss Ruby being Summer's reincarnation or something as if that's actually possible.

There's likely another reason, for Tai to be understanding about them having a private moment. He could have easily just brushed Qrow off, but instead he grits his teeth in annoyance and leaves. And in the beginning, Qrow seemed really sentimental when he asked him.
My personal theory is that Qrow blames his Semblance for Summer's death, and he feels like he has to atone through Ruby.

This is explicitly a thing (sort of) in Steven Universe so don't dismiss it as a possibility just because it makes no sense. It's also a thing in Dragon Ball with Piccolo Daimaou and Piccolo Jr.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!iirc Steven Universe kills Rose when she gives birth (or something, I need to play catchup) with some weird Gem stuff going on, while Picciolo was in the process of dying when he reincarnated.
Pretty sure Summer was around for a couple years after Ruby was born before getting offed. Reincarnation typically precludes you from coexisting with your next incarnation.

Just because it's possible in two unrelated works doesn't mean that it's possible in RWBY, and I don't believe there has been any evidence that reincarnation is possible.

"Einstein would turn over in his grave. Not only does God play dice, the dice are loaded." -Chairman Sheng-Ji YangI believe that the reason Qrow didn't want Tai to be there for that conversation was because he knew he was going to be having a conversation that Tai wouldn't like. That's why Tai glared at him as they passed. He knew he was going to regret this.
Qrow's conversation with Ruby has nothing to do with what Tai knows. It's all about manipulating Ruby into running off to Haven.
As far as we know, the Summer and Winter Maidens haven't been mentioned (at least not in a fashion we recognise if there have been hints).
The Spring Maiden has been mentioned. It sounds like she's been hidden away because she's somehow the end piece of the chess game — if Salem gets her, it's all over for Ozpin's group. It's also been very strongly implied that Ozpin gave Raven the responsibility of keeping Spring hidden.
So... my expectation is that Spring is hiding in plain sight.
So... here's a head canon of mine: the reason Nora is an orphan is because she's the next Spring Maiden (yes, I know Nora was created before the Maidens were, this just a head canon - one of several). Among Thor's lesser known attributes are that he was a fertility god (and fertility gods are often associated with Spring) and that he was the protector of the Seasons. Nora's symbol is the heart. This head canon of mine gets paired with the head canon that Weiss, Nora, Yang and Blake will end up becoming the Four Maidens.
That said, Nora could fulfil the Thor role more literally by becoming the protector of the Seasons (as in the girls concerned) and Velvet will always be a candidate in the fandom's mind for a potential future Spring Maiden, if only because of the Easter Bunny.
Still, head canons about identity aside, I won't be surprised if the Spring Maiden turns out to have been hiding in plain sight. It's how Princess Ozma was hidden away by the Wizard of Oz (magic was used to disguise her as a boy, and she was travelling with Dorothy's group for a while until people found out the truth — this was news to Ozma as well, as she didn't know she was really a girl, let alone the heir to the throne).
When Oscar first entered the story, I wasn't sure if he was going to be something to do with Ozpin or a version of Princess Ozma (ie, the Spring Maiden magically disguised as a boy)... or both. Fans speculate that he might end up becoming the new P of JNPR. Given JNPR's theme, Oscar would need to fit that theme, and we'd be back to Ozma again.
I'm hoping he doesn't end up joining JNPR, however — that would make him one hell of a child prodigy even when compared to Ruby, although it's pretty much guaranteed that he's going to be a prodigy given his situation.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. And just have her wander aimlessly instead? That doesn't sound like a good idea either.
Also I don't remember it ever being indicated it was his plan for Ruby to lure out WTCH either. In fact I don't think he wanted to have to reveal himself to Ruby at all.

The way it was framed when Jaune accused him of it basically confirmed it. When people say "it's complicated" the way he did, that just means they were doing what they were called out for but don't want to admit it.
And I don't think she would have wandered around aimlessly. If he hadn't have given her any direction, she probably wouldn't have left, at least not so soon.
My mistake.
Ruby and Summer
:
- Silver eyes
- Black hair tinged with red on the bottom
- Hooded cloak.
- Black skirt/outfit under a brighter cloak
- Little dash of red under her cloak
Ruby and Qrow
◊:
- Red cloak, Ruby's is tattered similar to Qrow's
- Grayish eyes/Silver eyes (Ozpin points this out in the first epis...
- ...wait, is Qrow a silver-eyed warrior? Can he freeze Grimm too?)
- Scythe weapon with 3 known forms
- Cross-shaped emblem located on the chest
- Outfits that expose the upper chest slightly
- Fighting style (frequently using their weapons for propulsion and balance)

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!

@Morninstar The superficial elements of the theory and question of why even do that is part of why I question it, but I'm coming to accept that theories aren't often thought out anyway in relation to the actual products, so I'm just going to shrug it off.
