Assume the death to be tragic.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Nora faces off against a supersized serpentine Grimm, and the fight ends with her presumed dead.
When the Grimm shows up again, it keels over, dead. Followed by Nora popping up, alive and well.
I think before the series is over, all of team JNPR will be dead. I'm basing this off of volume 3 op. The scene towards the end when teams RWBY and JNPR are holding hands while falling down a pit Pyrrha breaks away and fades into the background, obviously foreshadowing her death. But she's only the first, a split second later the rest of team JNPR follows.
But I'm probably read too much into it, hopefully.

That's true. It could just be me being nervous. Also the scene I mentioned RWBY and JNPR were holding hands in an alternating pattern, so when team JNPR vanished the members of team RWBY were left falling on their own with no one to hold, no physical connection perhaps to symbolize their coming isolation.
Either way, with what we learn about their backstory in volume 4, any ending that doesn't have Rin and Nora together happy and alive would be emotionally draining.
Speaking of the first episode of the new season, did anyone notice that there's commentary in the closed captions?
I'm starting to think I like RWBY chibi more than RWBY.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.I find myself thinking that Ruby is going to be the catalyst for tag team Blake and Yang fight against Adam. Like, Ruby runs in Adam, gets super pissed off and goes for him, and gets kidnapped or something. Just a hunch about possible things to come, not sure if they could win.

Ruby's going to be the catalyst for something. Judging by the pilot narration, her speech at the end of Volume 3 and the lyrics for 'Divide', Salem's defeat of Ozpin rests on taking away his optimism and the key to taking away Ozpin's optimism appears to rest in destroying Ruby's optimism.
I am not talking about an Heroic BSoD. I'm not even talking about a Despair Event Horizon. I'm talking about the danger of what comes out the other side of a Despair Event Horizon (which I think Salem shows signs of being). I'm talking soul-crushing, soul-destroying, soul-changing despair.
That's why I think she wants Ruby alive. Killing Ruby just means Ozpin gets to try again at a later date. Snuffing out hope now doesn't stop hope being found at some point in the future. She needs to crush Ruby's soul into despair and then probably corrupt her into a mockery of her former self. Only then can she end hope for Ozpin - not just for now, but for all time. That's how she'll crush Ozpin's soul, and truly defeat him once and for all.
So the key to this entire show is Ruby's optimism.
Ruby's role in this show so far has been a catalyst. A catalyst gets add to a mix to generate action and reaction but does itself not change. That is what Ruby currently appears to be. Everything happens around her and her role so far is more like a plaster - holding people together so that they can act around her while she bears witness.
This is an illusion that's been built up for the audience so that we have the same perspective of Ruby that all the characters around her have: the cheerful little light that bobs along keep everyone's spirit going simply by shining. She is, in a real sense, the 'lighthouse' of the show - present, yet appearing to do nothing but act as a beacon for others find their way.
Like I said, this is an illusion and, like all illusions, will shatter. It will shatter for the audience when it shatters for the characters around her. Characters experiencing the fall of Beacon feel like they've witnessed their darkest hour. They haven't. Even Yang hasn't. Yang won't hit her darkest hour until her purpose for being has been taken from her — and that's Ruby.
When Ruby's optimism shatters into despair, that's when the story will hit its darkest hour. And that's when we'll begin to learn who Ruby really is.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Just caught RWBY Chibi S2E1.
I second the notion that RWBY Chibi is better than actual RWBY.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

She has an aura. Aura is made from one's soul. Ergo, Penny is completely alive by the standards of the series in the fact that she's a sentient being with a soul.
