...weeeellll...
I would say that the action and the music are half of the show. And, as cliche as it may be to say at this point, the pacing doesn't really bother me for reasons x, y, and z. In a perfect world I would give projects like these a year at least, but that's probably not being realistic and hype/interest would die down if we weren't expecting Volume 5 at the next RTX.
(And yet Sherlock disappears for 2-3 years and comes back just fine)

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!^^^^you’re probably right but at least in my experience, there is is an obvious difference between arbitrary deadlines imparted by the heavens (upper management a la EA games) and deadlines adhered to by your own pride. RWBY falls under the latter and can be felt.

"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterI thought RWBY's deadlines were neither. They have deadlines for their professional works, and have to slot in RWBY (as an amateur side-project) around those deadlines. It's not that the show has pride-based deadlines, it's that the show's very existence is a side-project that they have to fit in around their other, more important, work.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Tch, fffffssssssssssa.
'Dem's some fighting words.

Hell, I should probably count Achievement Hunter but I don't really watch that series.
I honestly don't know if it's Rooster Teeth's biggest, most important project. Objectively we should say they're both equally important passion projects. But that's no fun, so I'm going to say RWBY is the second most important, more expensive, and more geared for weeaboos. Fite me.

My vote's for "This Will be the Day."
That being said, while RWBY is definitely one of RT's biggest shows, it's not the biggest. However, it does seem to be bigger than RvB. RWBY V4C1 has 2.2 mil views whereas RvB S14E1 has 1.4 mil.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!... What's that got to do with anything? That just proves that RvB has been around for much longer which no one is disputing.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Call me when Achievement Hunter or Red vs Blue get official Japanese dubs and air on Japanese television.
Also I tend to treat Achievement Hunter as their own thing when talking about Rooster Teeth
Anyway all this started around the idea that RWBY was just a side project and the whole animation team that sprung up around it was just fitting their work on that show around other projects.

I mean, RWBY has a Japanese dub because it's basically an anime in name already; Red vs Blue is more often than not just player models from the Halo series being used for a series. I'm not even sure how big Halo actually is in Japan.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!How many American made animesque shows are there, that use the same amount of Japanese fiction cliches that RWBY does?
To wit:
- Sweat drops and that weird Q_Q eye thing.
- Pratfalling at bad news
- giant glowing eyes
- Super Saiyan auras
- Bishounen comic relief (Sun)
- Butt-Monkey comic relief (Jaune)
- Magic Skirt(s) abound
- A Tsundere (Weiss)
- A mysterious, sexy, alabaster witch-lady (Cinder)
- Vaguely defined superpowers that get explained over the course of a battle and aren't properly explained until a much later episode
- A soundtrack/various leitmotifs that tell us more about the characters than the show itself.
- A chibi-spin off series.
- A catgirl character.
- A heavy focus on The Power of Friendship.
- A Tournament Arc.
- Ultimately, all it's missing is a Beach Episode and a Training Arc.
- Oh, and a fight during the finale where the full version of the Volume's opening song plays.
- Ultimately, all it's missing is a Beach Episode and a Training Arc.
And if you say Avatar the Last Airbender I'll pop you.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Weirdness...Avatar only did about half the cliches in that list...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.

^^the show is rough around the edges but you can tell the people who make it are passionate as heck about making something trully great, not just trying to make a quick buck or satisfy some arbitrary deadline. Somehow that just bleeds through despite any technical faults.
