One detail I like about The Stormlight Archive is how Sanderson just said fuck it to genetics and decided people get both their parent’s eye/hair colors as striping
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterYeah I am rather curious also.
Well saying that probably will not make people uninterested in knowing. At this point someone should just link the subject so they can read about it at the very least.
Especially about someone having a meltdown since there can be a number of reasons for that happening.

"Shall I use you, or make you mine... I'm not so sure what I'll do." - DorthyAlright, short summary because I'm on my iPad. Kathleen feels she wasn't treated fairly at Rooster Teeth because she was a woman, then she proceed to trash several women who work at RT, such as Ashley Jenkins by saying she only has a job because she's Burnie's fiancé. She then devolved to attacking fans who responded to her and has since deleted her entire Twitter.
All of this prompted Barbara to post a tumblr entry about how when she started at RT another woman there who told her that she didn't belong there, spread rumours about her that Barbara says are too awful to type out and took every opportunity to make her feel like she didn't belong. Reading between the lines that sounds like Kathleen but has never been formally confirmed, because the RT staff are professional enough not to go down to that level of mudslinging.
There are three so far. Mercury's original VA JJ said he wasn't paid enough for his lines, but somebody calculated he got paid the industry standard for the amount of work he did. Kathleen says she wasn't treated fairly but there is a lot of tango all evidence she treated Barbara like shit and her meltdown does not paint the best picture of her character. And then there's Shane whose story that Miles and Kerry were ruining RWBY is very self serving, makes a lot of claims without proof, and has him avoid taking responsibility for his own failings.
So far the trend are two bitter ex employees whose stories are very self serving and one former guy whose gripe is that he wasn't paid more.
Current employees aren't likely to bitch about their employment circumstances.
Employees with bad experiences usually wind up as former employees.
Simple.
Anyway, while each of these cases can be explained away (despite none of us having complete information), together they do give me pause. It's not like a company treating its employees like shit is anything far-fetched.
Well Kathleen's story is the easiest to dismiss. She claims RT didn't treat her fair because she was a woman, but how many departments within RT have a woman at the head? How many opportunities have they given women? And then you have her accusing Ashley of only having a job because she sleeps with Burnie and ignoring all her hard work both at RT and before she joined, not to mention how she treated Barbara like shit and all it falls apart.
Shane even through the letter he wrote comes across as having an inflated sense of his own self importance to believe that only he knows best when it comes to RWBY and never acknowledging that Monty went to Miles, Kerry and Jeff Williams and worked with them all, nor did he show that he had any care for other members of the team. Not to mention that his hero worship of Monty was so great that he was against moving to Maya which was easier for the animation team to use because Monty had done everything in Poser and therefore everything should be done that way.
And they aren't the only two people who have ever left Rooster Teeth, yet no other former employee has made similar claims.

Hah, no. Just because RT has female heads does not mean people can't be mistreated for being female there. You don't know NEARLY enough about the situation to say the claim "falls apart".
I don't even agree with Shane's position as he puts it, I think Monty was a terrible storyteller from the information we've been given, but there were definitely disagreements between what Miles/Kerry wanted and what Monty wanted, a lot of his story seems to check out.
We don't know nearly enough about any of these situations to act like RT is innocent here.
Yeah, but he doesn't seem to be holding a grudge or bad talking RT either.
Anyway, if people want to follow this tangent then I guess either make a Rooster Teeth general thread (surprised one doesn't exist), or go to the reddit thread
. It's worth it if you just read Michael and Miles response at the top.
