I honestly don't really see it. My comparison to Sokka at least has some Word of God to back it up, and even then it's nowhere near the degree of similarity to be called an Expy. Then again, I never played FF7 or any of the billion remakes of it.

Didn't have to be the strongest comparisons - as long as we're not going "Jaune has blond hair and Cloud has blond hair, they're practically cut from the same cloth! They both hold swords and want to be heroes, Rooster Teeth totally stole from Square Enix."
Wearing red clothing to symbolize their fallen friend/love interest does seem a little significant. Specifically because they were both love interests killed by the, or one of the main antagonists. And Asia has that whole "red string of fate" concept.
Not enough to say Jaune is a rip-off, but then that didn't seem to be the point.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I don't see the point in making comparisons when they're this superficial, though.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!A part of me still wishes that we actually got the Yang vs. Adam fight in Volume 3 rather than the Single-Stroke Battle we got.
I wouldn't mind her losing her arm even if she actually fought him, this is just something I would have liked to see.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!That would enforce the skill gap, but it would not enforce the power gap...
The choice isn't hard.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I don't think the skill gap is wide enough to deserve a 6 v 1 match.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I'd support a 6 v 1 match just because that would be awesome. Normally I'd say that they could rock it tag-team style where people swap out as their aura gets low, but Adam has already shown that he can one-shot people even through a full aura, so I'm not sure how that'd work.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I think if such a fight does happen, a lot of it will be characters using their abilities to help each other avoid the whole instagib business while trying to find an opening.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia!Eh, the situation really doesn't feel like that's warranted, Ruby feels too far removed from it. By the same logic you could say Taiyang, or Qrow, or even Raven should be involved. Or, hell, Weiss too, because she's like family.
And I'm just at a lose there, why should they (NJR) be involved?

With Yang's semblance, it hasn't been specified as to whether or not her getting hit has to be from an opponent. Just that she gets stronger with every hit. So friendly fire would probably be included in that.
On that note, does the power behind the hit effect how much stronger Yang gets? Cuz if so... Supercharged Nora hitting Yang so that Yang's semblance activates... Imagine how terrifyingly strong that would be
bro im literally a girl![]()
Yang's semblance doesn't boost her defense at all, so she has to be able to withstand the hit for her semblance to be of any use. It's a berserker sort of thing — throw yourself into an all-out attack with no thought for defense and you're either a terrifying one-person wrecking machine, or you die.
Durability doesn't increase but the adrenaline allows you to keep going...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.plus it's an emotional hurt, kinda sorta i guess
huh, just now making the connection between Lucario's aura in Smash Bros and Yang's semblance. they're literally the same thing.

It's not clear if her semblance works with any damage she's taken, or only damage she takes while her semblance is active.
Like, if her aura is at 50% and she activates her semblance, does she immediately get a 50% damage buff? Or does she have to wait to take more damage once her semblance is on? I dunno, though I think the former would be more consistent with what we've seen her do on-screen. But RWBY's not afraid of running on Rule of Cool, so....
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.

And yeah, they admittedly aren't the strongest comparisons, I was noting some similarities between the two.
