I wouldn't call that secondary to maybe finding Ozpin. They're about equal in footing. Honestly, that just sounds like a weird thing to hide, especially since he just got finished explaining the whole Maiden deal and in the even that he does find Ozpin in a new body there, he's just going to end up explaining it to them anyway.

friends, can we please pothole a trope only once per post. It Feels Like I Am Reading Sentences Like This Entirely Too Often.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterThas not a bad thing, mang.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It always amazes me that this thread has arguments that often produce truly massive walls of text that I rarely, if ever, see in other threads yet the arguments never seem to go anywhere.
I'm not implying anything by this, just making an observation.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!you should’ve seen the mass effect 2 arguments
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterThen how come I'm not seeing it in threads for fandoms far larger than RWBY could ever hope to be?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'm in the Dragon Ball thread, the Final Fantasy thread, the Sonic thread, the Mario thread, the Zelda thread, the Kingdom Hearts thread, the Pokemon General thread, the Pokemon Anime thread, and the Mega Man thread. In none of those do I see the constant, massive walls of text that I see here that result in arguments that go nowhere.
Also, I am restricting myself to this site because I here enough about how things usually go on other sites to know better. Even my original statement suggests that I was restricting myself to this site (I said "other threads") so stating how things are on other sites is irrelevant.

i half agree with you. there are certainly consistent arguments that never go anywhere in the other threads, bit rarely do they reach the walls of text that this thread produces.
The one exception to that is the Homestuck thread, which produces even more massive walls of text about something equally pedantic.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeYou weren't there for the arguments about Super Perfect Cell's power level versus Gohan's.
Thing with those threads, I imagine, is that the really epic arguments get canceled out because someone eventually someone makes it personal, or the argument has been done so many times no one is changing their position, so eventually it just dies out. Dragonball has been out for decades so most of those page-wide arguments have either settled, disproved, or outlawed because all they do is promote hostility.
RWBY is a relatively young franchise and as such we don't have as many tired arguments. The fanbase is relatively small next to giants like Sonic and Dragonball and no one has gotten uncivil while arguing - so naturally, there's more talk about the pacing of Volumes 3 and 4, Sun's characterization, Ruby's role as the protagonist, etc.

My point is that most of the arguments this thread gets into are already tired. Need I remind you of the "Is Sun sexist" argument that got banned from two threads? Also, even the new arguments in those threads don't get even a quarter as long winded as arguments do here and, while I might not have been there for the original "Cell VS Gohan" battle power argument, I have been there for several of them. Just because I don't post doesn't mean I'm not there. I'm a lurker.

So you're suggesting that the people here are just long winded?
EDIT: Also, everything in this thread is an argument. I just make a simple observation about the nature of arguments in this thread and it turns into an argument.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! And that's about where we disagree. When I say "tired" I mean the argument that has been going for years with no real conclusion. The pacing/Sun issues only came up, what, a few months ago?
...wait, what was the second thread?
Fewer people and older fans who have A) come to know each other's debating styles and points of view, B) resignation due to the series being out for so long, or C) you just aren't there when the big arguments do happen. Sonic and Metal Gear, however, don't have a lot of updates these days so you wouldn't see as many arguments.
Well then you know what I mean. I don't think any discussion about RWBY has gotten that severe. There isn't that much to get severe about.
If you want my genuine answer, the thing about this thread is that with the exception of Ambar and Jovian, as long as I've been here, no one else really analyzes the show under a microscope and most of us just gush about scenes and characters we like shots fired.
I had a problem with RWBY in the beginning when it started because people were crowding the Fridge Brilliance page with entries, which struck me as overeager fans trying to gush about as many things as possible. That alone tells me we didn't have a very critical group of people here (nothing wrong with that), or anywhere else on the site. As such, until Ambar and Jovian caught up with the show recently (start of Volume 4-ish I believe) we didn't have many people actually criticizing the show or breaking down things they didn't like and defending their reasons. And when we did it usually came down to "it's still the first season, they have budget issues, there's still potential here."
So while it seems like there's this surplus of long discussions going on, it's only really due to a lack of them previously, from my point of view, or because there's much more to actually discuss in Volume 4 compared to the earlier seasons.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Yes, it was taken to another thread that dealt with similar subject matter where it was subsequently banned because things got too heated like they did here.
Also, said argument went on for an entire freaking month before it (temporarily) ended. No other thread I've been in for the years that I have been on this site has ever gotten anywhere close to being that bad.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

See, it's SPREADING.
