I'm putting the changes of ONRJ at 0%. For starters the first initial is the leader and I can't see any chance in hell that Jaune, Ren and Nora would accept a farm boy without a single day of training in his life as the leader of their team, and given his reaction to Qrow's exposition there is no way Jaune would accept Ozpin's leadership without some serious work on his part.

Second comes down to experience. Oscar has Ozpin in his head but no actual training, no muscle memory, no evidence his aura is unlocked, he doesn't even have a weapon. He's a worse fighter than start of volume 1 Jaune was. Letting him on the team at all would be horrifically negligent to Oscar's well being. If he wants to be a huntsman then he should start by getting proper training. Putting him in a team that's intending to go hunt someone whose goal is to destroy kingdoms is recklessly putting him in danger that he is not prepared for.

Third, team synergy. JNPR was formed after a fight where the four of them all worked together and spent maybe two semesters together almost constantly. Even though Pyrrha is gone they still work together well as a team and are so close they are pretty much family. Oscar has none of that; he's not their friend, he's not from beacon, he's not even their age. There's no reason for him to be in their team.

[up] Oscar has the cane, but other than that overall correct in regards to Oscar not working as a team leader based on current evidence.

Pretty much all of those issues could be made moot with some Leaked Experience from Ozpin. Dude's meant to be crazy OP, just inherited his soul could jump Oscar up to relevance.

Not saying i'd like that or that it'd be a good idea, but it's definitely easy to see how that could happen.

My main gripe with the idea that Ozpin's experience would bleed over to Oscar is that half of combat is reliant on muscle memory which Oscar doesn't have. Not to mention that Ozpin's fighting knowledge and style would be that of an older and taller man and not something you could just plug into a young boy (do we have an age range for Oscar actually?) Matrix-Style and have a competent huntsman.

He'd definitely have an advantage in the knowledge department, but having him become an Instant Expert would be a terrible idea and I hope CRWBY doesn't go that way.

pfft, muscle memory doesn't mean anything unless the writers want it to. Aura can substitute any complaint you might have, if the writers will it.

I don't think he'll be quite the monster Ozpin was initially thanks to his inexperience, but if he can even tap into a portion of Ozpin's power initially he'll be able to hold his own weight enough for the moment.

Or have fought Mr Shakedown in Yakuza 0.

And yet I still dislike Weiss vs Banesaw. Albeit for reasons outside of the fight, so to speak.

I think that Weiss v. Banesaw was the worst fight of volume 2, but not exactly a bad one. How Banesaw caught Weiss while she was using her Dust didn't make sense, but other than that it was good.

Um...I think some of you might be too focused on the name that was just used for convenience. I wasn't actually Oscar should become leader or anything.

Though Saiga is right about how most of those issues can be handwaved away. I don't think or hope they will, but they can.

And as for Jaune's opinion, frankly, his opinion on all of this doesn't really matter.

[up]Because he didn't, he just caught her during a normal jump. Weiss isn't using Dust/her Semblance with every action she takes.

Honestly, my biggest problem with the Weiss vs Banesaw fight is why he didn't just murder her when he had the chance.

I think the show was trying to portray him as a sadistic monster by killing her in front of Blake when he tossed Weiss into the car

I'd buy that if he had said something to that effect, but as-is it just comes off as narrative convenience to allow her to lose her fight and still be rescued by Blake instead of just getting chainsawed in half.

Maybe this has been mentioned before, idk, but there's apparently a theory that Banesaw is Yatsuhashi from team CFVY in disguise. His shoulder pad would be hiding the tattoo.

I mean, the models for the characters do look REALLY similar.

Impossible. He was on the train; next episode Yatsu shows up in a helicopter with the rest of his team. It's very simple.
