Thing is, you can pull off that exact same thing without killing the tension. Just show Team RWBY getting overwhelmed until JNPR shows up. Then show their combined forces being overwhelmed until the professors show up. That creates a sort of stalemate where quality is matched my sheer quantity. Then CFVY shows up and pushes things over the edge. End it with the Atlas bots showing up as a sort of damage control and you're done.
Bam. Exact same events but now it's not horrible.
Also, Raven ex Machina was mildly annoying but not as annoying as Weiss kicking Banesaw's ass before suddenly losing.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I agree about the Raven part, not so much Weiss. She doesn't come off a power striker or one who's good against a power striker. Her entire strategy seemed to amount to try and whittle him down little by little without getting hit by any of his much harder hitting strikes.
She and Yang would have been better of switching opponents but it's not like they could have known that.

That fight was a CLASSIC example of Fragile Speedster V Mighty Glacier: The former overwhelms the latter with speed, but doesn't do much damage. As soon as the Mighty Glacier gets a decent hit or grab in, the fight's done for the Fragile Speedster.
This too.

Plus, the idea that Banesaw was supposed to be a mook was sort of an assumption, with no prior basis save that he wasn't given a name, given that he had a unique design and weapon.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia! The conversation with qrow seems to at least imply she has been keeping tabs on Yang to a certain extent. The question is through what means does she do that. Though considering she has not a lot of screen time there are a lot of unanswered questions about her.
"Shall I use you, or make you mine... I'm not so sure what I'll do." - DorthyA couple of tropers were debating on the Ho Yay page whether Armed and Ready applies to Blake or Ruby, so it was turning into an Edit War. I pulled the entry to the Discussion Page
.
Is anyone willing to weigh in over there to help reach a consensus on what to do with the example?
Just remember what happened to Jaune and Pyrrha when it looked like they were becoming canon. If the creators are anything like Tite Kubo, you won't want relationships to become canon - for most of the manga, the only romantic relationships Kubo portrayed were ones that ended in tragedy.
I consider the whole of Volume 4 to have been plot-related. In fact, I consider Volume 4 to be one of the most plot-heavy volumes we've had.
Generally, I agree with LSBK (including his point that just because I think Volume 4 was heavily plot and character based, it doesn't mean I think it was problem-free).

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. Thanks for responding. I don't have a take on the song as I don't know what the lyrics are yet. I need subtitles when I watch shows, so I have trouble with song lyrics unless I can read what's being sung.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Probably. It's the only other one of these pairings where mutual interest has ever even been slightly expressed. Or even just one-sided interest...
Oh, besides the ever so important Weiss/Neptune pairing. Huh, actually, it just donged on me we'll probably be seeing Sun's team again next volume, so that might not even be a joke.

Thanks for the link.
Eh, when viewed in the context of her reciting what the details of the recurring nightmare are (ie, the scene that she can't stop reliving), the reference would be about Blake. However, given that the context is about the dream that's torturing her, I don't view it as ship-related.
I can see why people think it's Ruby, however, given that it's Ruby Yang's currently racing towards and that her previous songs about Ruby have mentioned how much she wants to protect her sister.
That's the thing with Yang. She is a protective person. And she doesn't do things by halves. She protects people the same way she lives her life - with all her heart. I'd expect her to give her all to Weiss as well, if Weiss needed her.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading." some good fights, some good plot, both heroes and villains area allowed to be competent and proactive. Villains make some progress and heroes aren't able to stop them completely but do successfully mitigate the damage they cause. Volume 2's finale is actually my favorite in the series so far. Volume 1's was serviceable but nothing earth-shattering, volume 3's was the plot bending over backwards in favor of the villains, and volume 4 was a giant meh."
Well consider how much I hate season 2, let me responde: the big problem with the train fight and the breach is clearly monty style of coolest over consistency: you have weiss moving around, making awsomes jumps and prepare a blow..until suddenly he grap her and pull away, the guy dosent even seen a hunter and defeat one in the most WTF way posible, is like Miles and kerry said "ok, we cant let this guy lost so....", or having roman steal all the dust off screen and lost a chunk in VERY anticlimax fight against Blake who last less than a minute(really, I count it) and the only reason the train fight exist at all is because monty want boss fights(no kidding, he said so himself) and the breach kill any idea the grimm were threating until volume 4 with nuckleeve and the sea dragon.
Also, a this point I will agree LSBK here about what is nothing, you said Raven ex machina wasnt that bad, but for me it was awfull and one of the worst part of RWBY.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"![]()
and I will disagree with your disagree me, so let agree to disagree
Yeah, but a big problem for volume 2 being a transition volume is the tone: volume 2 is supused to serve as brige between volume 1 who was all happy and stuff and the clusterfuck of volume 3 while volume 4 was pulling away into more calm stay(I kept saying volume 4 theme is about healing).
Problem is, volume 2 dosent really end in darker note which breach being solve in anti climatic way it feel more like a "and them the heroine kick butt!" which make the transition to volume 3 REALLY jarring, something other tropers like jovian complain about.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I just realized that the name of the song about Yang's return is called "Armed and Ready".
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

I always thought that was the point. They forced them to launch the plan before it was actually ready, so the damage was comparatively minimal and could actually be fixed quickly.
It gives the heroes a fell good moment but also lets us know what sort of things the villains are planning, with the implication that things won't always work out so well. Go to the next season and...
