Again, aura down. He's vulnerable. They have guns. Even thinking from a defense position, you shoot at him.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.Could also easily be fixed by having him immediately run around a convenient cover building and disappear
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterHe didn't immediately. He cried out in pain, cursed Ruby, looked at them all real quick, then commented about how Salem would forgive him and all to himself then ran off without moving particularly fast.
Now that much is fair, though I feel that issue is...well, a whole other issue in and of itself as to what exactly are they doing here and planning to do to resolve this conflict and so on. Mainly because I knew shooting him would kill him and my train of thought was "They should kill him if they have the chance. Taking captive is better, but barring that, kill him. Neutralize the threat permanently."
Holy shit, I feel like Tobias now when he brings up soldier related stuff!
Just the fact that they don't seem to have any real plan or the will to actually get things done while acting as warriors bothers me. And yet Ruby will cut body parts off of people.
At any rate, I've feeling that question of "What are you doing here if you don't have the will to kill the very enemy you're hunting down?" is going to infect things.

Improving as an author, one video at a time. There are a few reasons why I think it makes sense that NJR didn't try to attack, kill or detain Tyrian at the end. The first is that all of them are hurt, Qrow and Ruby have no aura and thus no protection from damage and NJR would have to be on next to no aura. Tyrian's at his weakest, but RNJR landed a single blow on him prior to Qrow's arrival. There's no guarantee that they in their weakened state are stronger than he is in his and if not then more of them are going to get hurt.
Second is that none of them have killed any human opponents (directly at least for Ruby but that's more Fridge Logic for volume 2), and without his aura they might very well kill Tyrian. In the heat of battle I don't think they'd have the time to hesitate (maybe Jaune would), but where it stands now they would have to know that if they attack him they would end up killing him which is a line I don't think any of them are willing to cross. In a meta sense as well in the western world (here in Australia at least) shooting someone as they're fleeing is murder outside some very specific situations (all of which have to do with more lives being in immediate danger if you don't shoot). Having RNJR press the attack on a fleeing target and trying to kill him would raise some moral issues I don't think RT is interested in exploring.
Third, Tyrian is content to flee at this point, if attacked he might decide that he can't get out of that situation alive and go all out to take people with him. Considering that he was previously fast enough to dodge all but two of RNJR's attacks while handing them their asses they could have decided this was a fight they couldn't win without great cost and let him go. Without his stinger he's less dangerous while they can heal back up to full strength (bar Qrow who might need a bit more time, medical attention or Jaune's magic healing aura from volume 1) and be prepared for round 2.
Qrow was down for the count, Ruby was Aura broken, and the other three likely wouldn't have wanted to risk it. Can't fault them.
Anyway, probably-obvious-but-haven't-seen-it-discussed time. If Ozpin is indeed a gestalt entity that Body Surf 's and adds personalities to its collective with each successive possession, then Salem's history with him, the possibility of being the Wizard of the tale of the Sisters, and his claim of having made more mistakes than every man, woman and child alive all make more sense. So Salem doesn't hate Professor Ozpin of Beacon Academy specifically, he's just the latest in a string of people who've hosted the entity with whom she has beef since time immemorial. Or something.
Also, same

So, I've been wondering about the League of Evil's tactical reasons for doing what they're doing and thinking about that got me back to something that I noticed when they did the videos about the Four Kingdoms: Vale seems to be the "good Kingdom".
I mean, at least Atlas on the frigid northern continent, with terrible class and income inequality and seems to be the worst with the Faunus discrimination (If we're going to get anything more overt with that like a lot of people want, it's probably going to be there), and all and all has a pretty authoritarian and militaristic vibe.
Mistral is also apparently pretty bad with the inequality with the added bonus of a terrible criminal underground.
Vacuo is apparently mostly a barren wasteland with the government only having nominal control over things.
Vale, in turn, when discussing it basically amounted to "Has strong natural barriers and isn't that bad a place to live".
When thinking about it Mistral or Vacuo probably would have been easier to tackle because of their weaker governments, but besides narrative reason (being where the main characters are) and also apparently having "the relic", tackling Vale also probably sends a stronger signal than messing with the others. Like, the basically ruined the best place on Remnant to live.
The real reason they atack Vale is because is the safer place and of course the best to hide Amber, which explain the reason to use so overboard plan agains them.
So, I have to ask: how far do you like this half season? I would said Blake and Ruby part of the plot are the best(ignoring the whole "Sun follow Blake" discussion) since it gives us good fights and show more of the world while Yang and Weiss are mini plots than anything: the former is good but so far is to quick to recover and Weiss just give us thing we already know(Jaques is asshole,Atlas is self absorve and Ironwood is manly) while living more questions(like...dunno....WHAT THE HELL IS PENNY?) is not bad, but it have to really pick up steam and fast
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
Well, I said besides narrative reasons. Although, Amber was likely already somewhere in the Kingdom of Vale to begin with so following her to Beacon doesn't mean much. They have to start somewhere.
The hunt for the Maidens is probably going to take the story to each kingdom at some point, probably with Winter in Atlas and Summer in Vacuo.
As for Yang, I don't think she's too quick to recover. It's been months since everything happened, and it's not like she's completely rehabilitated or over everything, she's just trying to get back into shape. If she doesn't have any roadblocks along the way, I call bullshit, but I don't think that's going to happen.
Yeah but I figured Vale is the best away: Atlas have is goverment to tie with the school, Mistral is too anarchic and Vacou is worst in that regard, Vale is safe.
on the other hand, it seen neither Watts,Hazel or Tyran know about Cinder activity, it make one think what they were doing...
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not":p
sorry
I mean, he's voiced by Vic Mignogia which can't be cheap, so now's about as good a time to kill him off as any. Qrow died like he lived - as a minor supporting character shrouded in mystery who the main cast and the audience would continue to look at in awe.
It wouldn't quite be a Kamina death, but it could be. Imagine: Qrow in his dying moments, shedding his eternal cynicism to give Team RNJR one final, motivating speech, and then hurling his wolf scythe through the ceiling and giving Ruby a thumbs up before saying, "Later...buddy..." A day later Team RNJR finds Tyrian's corpse in the middle of the road with Qrow's scythe buried in his skull.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!

Tyran beat them and even without is tail is a dangerous oponent, and more important is a thing of defending against him, the danger pass and now they have to deal with Qrow who is hurt(seriously hurt)
