If Whitley kills Jacques, it's definitely not gonna make him a villain in people's eyes, I can tell you that.

No, we also got an update on Oscar, and the fight between RNJR+Qrow and Tyrian. The latter win, but Qrow gets grazed by his tail, which Ruby cuts off, leading to a Precision B Strike.

Idk Spidey. Qrow is probably poisoned, and might very well die after giving us exposition, Oscar is indeed possessed by Ozpin, who was himself possessed by ??? at some point in his life before being absorbed into the Gesalt. So the entity which empowers him indeed has Body Surf immortality, which is all sorts of shady. Christmas has definitely been ruined for Weiss.
That pretty much confirms Ozpin was killed, and, at least in that regard, Salem wasn't lying to her subordinates, though it remains to be seen whether she omitted the part about him being able to Body Surf after death, which she clearly knows about.
Once again I tend to favor the theory that Salem is the Last Of a Precursor race of sorts. Perhaps Ozpin was originally also of that race, but ended up betraying his kind to protect the young human race ala the Crystal Gems from Steven Universe. Unlike that setting, his betrayal lead to the destruction of his people, save for one, who intends to get even no matter the cost. Tragic, and pitiable, but unambiguously a villain who needs to be stopped. As an extension, perhaps the rest of Salem's kind ended up becoming the first Grimm.

Team RNJR had aura still; you see Qrow's (and Tyrian's) break, and Ruby's aura being broken is the reason she was in danger of being stung, and probably why Qrow insisted she stay back. On a related note, Ruby's aura and Qrow's aura appear to be the exact same color. If it turns out that somehow he's her real father lol, well, I jokingly called it.

So in other words, Miles/Kerry are likely going to fall into the trap that to show how "dangerous/serious/powerful" the new enemies are, they're gonna Worf someone known to be strong, and also slap some Mentor Occupational Hazard in it with it. Lovely.
And in case anyone can't tell: I genuinely hate both those tropes. Too overdone and stale, especially since EVERYONE EXPECTS THEM now. And people have been calling both of those since Volume 2.

Gueez as much as Qrow is brushing off Tyrian's attsvk I really hope they can get an antidote soon. So Oscar's Aura has merged with Ozpin's? A successful version of the Aura transfer that was attempted with Phyrrha? This doesn't seem too bad unless there's another catch Ozpin is hiding from Oscar. And Jacques is an abusive jerk, unsurprisingly. But he's terrible at being an abuser. Lock your daughter in your house but leave her a weapon? Which is shown to allow her to scale walls?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.
I suspect that Ozpin's personality will gradually absorb and overwrite Oscar's. His own mind will be absorbed into the Gesalt that is Ozpin, which will probably not be fun. Considering Ozpin warned Pyrrha that "could" happen to her in the aura transference, and considering the foreshadowing in Blake's first appearance about "a man with two souls fighting for control of the body", I expect things will get more and more forceful with time.

Not necessarily, Qrow might just be incapacitated, requiring RNJR to find an antidote and perhaps leaving an opportunity for Tyrian to come back for round two.

Except RWBY has been playing most of the tropes straight instead of averting/subverting them. So Qrow's likely going to die because reasons.
Also the Blake thing wasn't foreshadowing: She was literally just reading The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

It's official, I hate Jacques. Fuck him.
