For me Winter treatment dosent surprise me, I have some friend with militar familiars and they are strict and very hard to get at times since they get a little bit control freak at times.
about Whietly....unlike other, he dosent seen to have a problem with Jaques, I guess because he is the middle child so Winter and Weiss take the blunt of is atention. or maybe he is a man and he look more like is father.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"There was also the "Silence you boob!" tone that she used and immediately dropped right after, though. You know, a real prim-reprimanding kind of air. Seemed a bit strange to me, which is why I'm mentioning it.
When I think about it, it's probably would be considered fine in Remnant militaries to hit the recruits a small bit. As long as they've still got aura, it wouldn't be hurting them anyway.

Minor nitpick: Whitley's the youngest, not the middle.
Yeah. Like I said, it's not really unusual, especially since she's in the military. Plus, right after the "Silence you boob!", she immediately asks Weiss again, this time being completely clear in what she's asking. It's clear that Winter's supposed to be a foil for Yang in regards to them both being a Cool Big Sis to their younger sisters.

Of Yang? doubt it, Winter,Crow,Raven and Adam are foils of RWBY: while Weiss is aloof and something strict Winter is harsh and hard to talk, Ruby is awkard with people while Qrow outright antisocial, Adam is agresive while Blake run away from her problem and Raven seen to care nothing but strenght.
Granted, I will said Adam is also a Foil of Yang in a way.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
No, Winter is a Foil to Yang in regards to being a Cool Big Sis. You're misusing/misinterpeting the trope. A foil is "A character who highlights another character's trait(s), usually by contrast".
Having the same traits as another character isn't a foil.

Well, Foil is a damn flexible trope since a lot of chararter can handlight another
Also when I said Yang and Adam are foil am not kidding: both are agresive, impuslive and set in their missions who care about Blake(kind off)
In fact, the moment were Yang charg to Adam have a intersting symbolism right there: he the bull faunus is actiling like a Matador, waiting for Bull(Yang) to charge before he can atack, while Yang is just rushing in violent manner with red eyes

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"In fairness, I don't think Qrow tries to actively provoke fights with the others. She didn't need to/shouldn't have taken the bait, but the unprofessional animosity goes both ways.
There's a story there, hopefully, not one of "unamiable exes", as entertaining as that would be.

Regarding Weiss's accidental summoning: She was panting once the Boarbatusk was fully formed and still breathing somewhat hard when it disappeared. I have no doubt it was her summoning, not in the least because it happened right in front of the portrait of Beacon, the place where we see her kill the show's first Boarbatusk.
Whitley's behaviour was interesting though. When she first let rip, he had a hand over his mouth. However, once she started lambasting the pettiness and selfishness of everyone, he started smiling.
Regarding Winter, I always think she behaves like a mother to Weiss, not a sister. From her introduction, I was wondering if the mother was dead or somehow absent, forcing Winter to feel like she had to step into the hole left behind. Now we have an implication that she might be an alcoholic, and suddenly Winter's attitude towards Qrow's drunkenness (and her comment to Glynda afterwards indicates it may have been the drunkenness that really offended her about Qrow) that truly irritated her.
Besides which, Qrow actually started picking a fight with Winter in public, surrounded by students, over matters we later learn are so top secret even most fully trained huntsmen know nothing about it. Especially since Qrow later shows the extent of his beef with Ironwood for not being discreet. Yes, Ironwood may not know when use and hide his strength, but at least he keeps his mouth shut in public.
So, Qrow picking a fight in public over secret matters while drunk were a good two reasons for Winter to be pissed off with him. Not that I mind the fact these characters aren't perfect and make mistakes. That's fine with me. The point seems to be that he clearly enjoys pushing her buttons more than he should and she lets him press her buttons more easily than she should.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.
rollin' on dubs
So the Big Good (Ozpin's group) is less "Knights of the Round Table" and more The Office....
Yes it is. Slapping your kid sister in front of her friend (and team leader)? You don't do that. That's completely socially unacceptable. And of course pulling a sword on Qrow is well beyond the pale, no matter how much of a drunken ass he may have been acting like (this isn't to say Qrow is unworthy of criticism for being a drunken ass, just that skewering him is not an appropriate reaction).
Winter's entire introduction is really problematic. The first things we see her do are slap Weiss unprovoked (and yes, giving the "wrong" answer is still doing something unprovoked) and then pick a fight with Qrow (who asshole he may be did not get physical until she did) because he dissed her boss. The rest of the episode and the whole of the episode after it tries to backpedal on this and establish her as a better person, but it doesn't really work because the slap and the fight between them make for a hell of a first impression no matter how you slice it. She's not unsalvageable, but it will take a lot more appearances before she climbs out of the hole she put herself in.

She put herself in a whole hole, gee. That's a problem ain't it?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Technically, Qrow "attacked" Atlas property when he destroyed a robot because 'haha i'm drunk but i'm a ~special secret spy~ so there's no consequences for me acting like a piece of shit'.
Seriously, I don't get why people like Qrow. His character type has been done to death and 'he's an alcoholic but without any actual repercussions for this' bullshit is so incredibly aggravating.
"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValSomething being done to death isn't gonna change some people's opinions...so that's not the problem.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Not to mention him being a drunk is like, mostly in the first episode. He spends the rest of Season 3:
-Hanging out with Yang and Ruby
-Calling out Ozpin and Ironwood
-Being a badass.
And in his only appearances in Season 4 he's:
-Protected Team RNJR from Grimm attacks
-Called out Raven for a lot of her neglect.
-Managed to keep Ozpin's cane away from the enemy for six months.
-Been a badass.
So...being a drunk doesn't define his character really.

Also, is hard to said something about wrow being one before when the entire series is REALLY derivative of anime and video games: the lone warrior, the thrill seeker, in that aspect Jaune arc with Phyrra in second volume is the worst as Adam being an abuser(something I feel it cheap is chararter), Qrow is charming and hilariosly a dick so people like that.
Qrow is pretty much a Dr house kind of chararter: is imply he driking start because Summer death or a least another incident and go out is way to not being friendly with everyone, he is flawed but awsome and that is what they like of him.

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"

Drill Sergeants irl, which is how a lot of stuff in RWBY is based, can't hit their trainees (anymore). They yell at them, a lot.
That being said: It's not unusual to me, as my that's what happens a lot on both sides of my family. Dope Slap for saying something very stupid as a way of "don't do that".
