Also isn't Shrug of God only for when they don't have an answer?

Agreed. That brings to mind "theories" about how Qrow might be Ruby's real father or how Raven might not actually be Yang's mother. Skepticism like that isn't actually born from any legit reason to not take things at face-value but because you don't want to let whatever pet theory you have die.

Even now it's contradicted because M and K said a human faunus pairing's child had a 50/50 chance of being either, while the Wo R implies that the odds are greater that the child will be faunus more than a human.

He's not ashamed...he doesn't delete...he remembers everything.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Finally got around to watching the Faunus segment.
- Facebook Q&A with creators established the following:
- Fa x Fa = Fa
- Fa x Fb = F?
- Fa x Hh = ??
- Qrow says the above in an 'in-character' way and even implies that, if the kid is going to be Faunus, the Faunus trait might not be known at birth. Like eye colour finalising months or years after birth, if the offspring is Faunus, it might not be confirmed as such until some time after birth. That's my interpretation of his ambiguous crack about teething offspring, anyway.
- Chronological relationship between Faunus War and Great War established.
- Great War ends eighty years ago (previous episodes - Ozpin)
- Menagerie is set aside for Faunus after the Great War ends (Faunus segment)
- Remnant pushes Faunus to settle in Menagerie (previous episodes - Oobleck)
- Faunus Equal Rights War (aka Faunus War) occurs (previous episodes - Oobleck)
- Faunus War lasts at least three years, where the war's turning point was General Laguna's mistake during the Battle of Fort Castle (previous episodes - Oobleck)
- Faunus War is relatively recent history, but might seem like ancient history to teenagers (previous episodes - Oobleck)
- Qrow basically implies a link between the rise of the White Fang and the beginning of the Faunus War.
- The Great War line-up is established: Vale & Vacuo versus Mantle & Mistral.
- Faunus might predate humans. Remnant history is fuzzy about that, but Faunus did out-number Humans originally, and Humans became more numerous than Faunus later on.
- Faunus/Human clashes occurred on all the continents - including the nameless dragon continent we all think Salem is on, and which the Vale WoR implied settlements were utterly wiped out from.
- Sanus is where the Humans and Faunus first worked together against the Grimm - that village appears to have been south of Vale (using the Vale WoR, this historic village's location is very close to the current location of Mountain Glenn's remains).
No wonder Cinder made Vale think Atlas was the bad guy — it might make Valians (is that a thing?) remember who they were fighting against during the Great War.
Since the Faunus War has to have been less than 80 years ago (after the Great War ended and Menagerie was established), General Laguna could still be alive. Explains why his name fits the colour rule, anyway — he was born after the Great War.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.I'm going to that Atlas won the great war, since Vale doesn't seem to have much in the way of a military, and Vaccuo was already on the receiving end of imperialism from Atlas and Vale going off of the color scheme of soldiers in their WOR segment. Stoking revanchism is a great way to escalate international tensions.

rollin' on dubs
If Atlas won it was a Pyrrhic Victory: if anything most of the kingdoms rejected order and conformity which seem to be the Atlas hat. I'm voing quagmire, and the kingdoms just wanted it to end.
I noticed something: Adam has a red sword that made Yang's arm go away. Raven has a sword that she can turn red and Neo ran off in terror when she saw Raven draw it. Not just because it's a pig sticker but I think that red dust (for lack of a better term) can empower a weapon to destroy what it hits. In Minecraft red dust is part of the "magic" that makes powered things (I'm making a railway in my minecraft world, if only I can find more gold!).
I think it's inspired and a bit of a shoutout to minecraft that red dust powered weapons are very dangerous.
@Raven: in other works her bandits would be key to victory. Instead she's more like Alfred Bester from Babylon Five or the pirate clans in Exo Squad: can't see past their own self interest. Like Bester, Raven does love her daughter and her brother...to an extent. It's a warped love based on her "kill or be killed" worldview. Fighting the Grimm broke her, possibly a run in with what would become Salem.
Yang or her father will somehow bring that bandit clan into the fight.

Actually, Miles and Kerry's rundown of Faunus genetics they did on the RT page is actually pretty much like 17 and 18's names being Lapis and Lazuli, as it was a response to a fan question.
