Not it's not. An observation is based on observed reality, and Jovian has not said whether or not he likes/dislikes those shows. He's said he has a problem with how this show handles a particular thing. He may think some of those other shows handled those plot points better.
Again, making weirdly accusatory assumptions about other people's interests based on their critique of the show you are currently discussing is a waste of everyone's time.

Agreed. We need more Chibis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycnJ1niuOTo
It's like a freezer in here.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So we got an episode with little to no RNJR, instead giving us a bit of an update on Blake and Yang. Kind surprising that Yang gets a new arm so quickly, but I suppose Taiyang is reasonably well connected based on what we know of him. Also, Ironwood sent it as a gesture of respect. We get a bit more of the villains this time, Mercury and Emerald continue being sheepish, Salem is looking for something beneath Beacon, and seems worried about what somebody (who I would assume to be Ozpin) is planning despite Cinder verbally confirmed that she killed (or at least was fooled into thinking she killed) Ozpin.

Each of the three thumbnails for the available episodes shows a member of Team RWBY.
- Ruby is falling, but facing the right.
- Blake and Weiss are both looking to the left, but standing.
Cute that these thumbnails put them close together when they're all so far apart.
I was informed that RWBY Chibi was all a bad dream that Androgynous Farm Boy was having and therefore non-canon. That said, it would seem the lack of Chibi is tearing everyone apart, spiritually. Maybe it doubled as some kind of feng shui.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The Butler's semblance is so excellent at killing things Jacques keeps him around as a private bodyguard, both for himself and for Weiss. His badassery is so well-hidden he's been protecting the Schnee family for generations from behind the scenes.
That, or Jacques just isn't a total prick and recognizes hard-working people. Or maybe he wasn't always the head of the family and didn't really have a say in firing the butler because "image." Or maybe they just keep Klein in the mansion and don't bring him to Family PR day.
Image is only a problem when you're a politician or a wrestler. Jacques, as far as we know, is neither.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Jacques might have a council seat. Ironwood has two. And is handsomely persuasive.
Worth noting that there's a freeze frame bonus in the Sombra trailer that makes her Boop alot more sinister. She's imitating a photo of the CEO playing with her daughter just to mock over over the blackmail.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Atlas' government seems to be a more benevolent take on the fascist idea of a corporate state, in which the companies are integrated into the government. It would make sense that Mr. Schnee as head of the largest company in the country would have a seat on the ruling council.
Since Ironwood has two votes though—as CINC of the army and Headmaster of the academy, I assume—he's presumably the most powerful man in the country—though given what Mr. Schnee said about being stripped of his rank, I assume the rest of the council can not only outvote him, but can also fire from one or the other of those positions. I wonder if they can do the same to one another? If so Mr. Schnee needs to be careful—he ticks of Ironwood enough and it's possible he could lose his own position.
I kept thinking why I feel survivor's guilt is a weak story arc for Ruby. I reached this answer: it doesn't challenge her identity. It's something, but it just feels shallower to me with relation to her actual goals.
Don't know how much since that makes, I'm just putting words to it, but yeah.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.I can see where he's coming from on this. The Vytal Festival is the symbol of the kingdoms not attacking each other anymore. It was a meaningful choice of target for Cinder and her plan went swimmingly. The diplomatic relationship between kingdoms was sundered with the attack on the Festival and the destruction of the CCT tower.
Atlas, in particular, received a massive blow to their diplomatic PR by Cinder revealing Penny to the world and by the takeover of their military hardware. Their androids were slaughtering people in the streets. Their airship was blasting evacuees out of the sky. Their battle mechs were attacking the Hunters trying to keep everyone safe. Cinder did a bang-up job creating the impression that this was an attack by Atlas against Vale.
The overarching message of the Vytal Festival's events was, "Atlas is a threat to every single one of you. For the safety of every human civilization on this planet, it must be destroyed." And with CCT down, they have no way to explain themselves. An occupying force retaliating against the events of the Vytal Festival made from forces of any or even all the other three kingdoms could be at their gates at any moment.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Just saw the episode. I'm not gonna go into detail 'cause I know lots of people haven't watched it yet, but I would like to register one complaint—the new outfits. God I loathe the new outfits on the girls. Blake's in a glorified bra and trenchcoat. Ruby's felt the need to add a tit window to her outfit. Nora's done the same. Yang's in a belly top and has her underwear hanging out. I'm sorry, but is this RWBY or a Jim Ballant comic?
It's particularly jarring since it's more or less out of character for all of them, at least at this point. Ruby's never been especially sexualized, Blake's always been played as shy and withdrawn (moreso than ever now), and Yang's currently in the midst of a crushing depressive episode. I struggle to accept that any of them, in the state they are in, would go, "you know what I need to do right now? Wear less clothes." It's especially bad in Ruby's case since the outfit combines poofy sleeves and a high collar with the tit window, a set of features that are faintly ludicrous.
If the show has decided that it wants to pander to the creepier fanboys...let's just say I'm not impressed.
Nora already had the cleavage window, all that's happened is it's been torn up a bit. Yang has always been bearing her midriff. Blake's new top covers as much as her first shirt did.

I understand Jovian's point, I just don't think it applies to either of the moments in episode 2. There is no way the Jacques/Ironwood conversation isn't going to get brought back up again, and since Weiss is the only main character around, she'd going to get involved somehow.
And, though RWBY's writing might not be the best in the world, I see no reason for them to frame the moment at the end they way they did, if it isn't going to come back up again.
Maybe Jovian's just more cynical, he admits to being soured on the series by Volume 3, but fair is fair, and you should look at things in the context they actually find themselves.
