There was no implication...

Is Whitley her brother? I don't know what to make of him yet.

But honestly, if you want to image what Whitley was like before Weiss left, you probably just have to thing about how Weiss was when we first met her, but as a boy and couple of years younger. Adjust accordingly and you probably get a pretty accurate picture.
You're all quite right, my apologies - "clearly" is a definite overstatement. However, Jacques does clearly have reasons to hold Winter and Weiss in a lower regard (their being Hunters as the obvious sticking point), along with Whitley being the only smiling child in the family portrait and saying for certain that he dislikes Winter would at least imply Whitley to be the favored of the three.
Of course, it could be in spite of all that he's kinda useless or something and Jacques spends every day thinking about his children with his head in hands and asking aloud "Where did I wrong?"

That's been a theory, since the family portrait shows that everyone but Jacques has white hair. He's greying a bit, not white.
Of course, it could be that white hair is not a Schnee family trait, and the kids just inherited it from their non-Schnee mother.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Motivation, not flaw...
You can't blame the child for the parent...it's not their fault.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It's a motivation that everyone would consider a flaw because of it being born off arrogant categorism.
It'd also probably have to be made clear that the Schnees beforehand really weren't any better to actually have this come up, which would make Weiss have some terrible Moral Myopia.
Nobody in Remnant has the capabilities required to blow off a huge chunk of the moon but, like, there it is. Huge chunk blown off the moon. Someone did that. If the technology doesn't exist anywhere in recorded history, then it happened before recorded history.
Yep. That's pretty much what I'm thinking, too. Although I'm willing to insert Ozpin and Salem into that scenario, too.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Yeah, I agree. I also think Ozpin and Salem are related to the moon-shattering conflict. Ozpin told Ruby in season 1, "I have made more mistakes than anyone on this planet," and the Wizard of Ozpin was a reclusive hermit when he met the Four Maidens. I think he f*cked up something fierce in the events that caused the Grimm and the moon and then left to wallow in regret and self-hatred until the Seasons brought him out of his slump.

Whitley did everything wrong. His social skills are poor and he should feel poor! Except he's not... because his family is stinking rich... hmm. This rant has fallen apart it seems.
Anyway, betting money there's something evil about him, like he wants to run the family the way it's always been run and Weiss wants to do things differently. Maybe not evil but definitely an antagonist.
