ironwood could just look the other way and act like he is dealing with more pressing matters. Would be a way of him trusting the plan called sending the scouts to look into something rather then have a massive army enter another kingdom and start another war.
"Shall I use you, or make you mine... I'm not so sure what I'll do." - DorthyJust watching Episode 2. Are we still spoiler tagging? I'll spoiler tag to be on the safe side. Removed spoiler tags and used this folder thingy idea everyone else is using.
- 'Jacques' is French for 'James', but people in the English-speaking world tend to assume it's 'Jack' and Jack Frost folklore/fairy tales are found across Europe in slightly different forms, usually a villain. In Russia, Father Frost is a morality tale about manners. Frank Baum created a Jack Frost character as well as the Oz characters. Jack Frost is the son of the Frost King and bullies everyone except Santa (but even Santa doesn't trust him). He has the power to freeze shadows and make them become living entities. So... that statue of the King Taijitsu in the Schnee house even has saliva - is it a sculpture or something real in frozen form?
- Whitley means 'white glade'. A ley is an Anglo-Saxon word for a forest clearing or glade, and is a common component in place names in the UK as a result. We have more than one Whitley, including one famous for red quarry stone and one famous for ice rinks.
- Klein Sieben. Klein is a vivid blue colour, named after the French artist who invented the shade. Given his surname, I wonder if he's got seven different eye colours?
- That's a very big, very empty house. It's full of custom designs. The blue tones make it very cold, made worse by the polar pictures and lillies (funeral flowers!). Screams 'excessively wealthy' and 'excessively lonely'.
- Props to the animation team for creating such an cold, empty, lonely atmosphere solely by having the sound of Weiss's footsteps echoing through metres and metres of empty, super-polished building. That place isn't a home; it's a show room.
- Mum and Dad fight a lot by the sounds of it. Mum drinks. Son is a creepy little snot with a hidden agenda.
- Family portraits: Winter and Weiss look unhappy. Mum looks annoyed. Whitley and Dad look smug. They were fighting seconds before the camera snapped, weren't they? Adult Winter has her mother's taste in hair and sleeves. Whitley portrait in piano room - he's the pianist?
- Jacques says Ironwood's one thing to Ironwood's face and says something different behind Ironwood's back.
- Map behind Ironwood is the old one, with the north-eastern island present. The poor guy is still too innocent - heart's in the right place, head's in the wrong place: Vale has a Dust shortage already thanks to Roman. If all the Kingdoms have one, everyone will think this is Phase II of Atlas's world domination plan. Jacques can actually see this, so he's the opposite of Ironwood - head's in the right place, heart's in the wrong place.
- Sounds like the Schnee family is in trouble if Jacques feels the family needs to tell the world it's strong - if you need to tell people it, you're not it.
- Can't bring myself to trust Klein.
- Did fanart just become canon?!!!
- Jaune's from Mistral? Or did his family just visit? Clash of the back stories coming - Jaune's in familiar territory and Ren and Nora are seeing familiar bandit symbols.
- Ren's in a bad place in this episode. Worse than Nora. Really liked the background shot of him clutching the back of his head. Jaune, if you're tired of losing everything, just you wait until Ren unloads!
- Ruby's dreams seem to be a mixture of guilt (not saving Pyrrha), memory (events leading up to her power reveal) and reality (half-hearing Jaune's secret training).
- Jaune's secret training: oh, the feels! Guess Jaune doesn't sleep much these days. My head cannon gets a boost - Ruby does know more about other people's troubles than Yang thinks.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. So wait, if RNJR rescues Weiss and her father interpret's that as kidnapping, making her Toph, since Cinder is Zuko (Firebender, eye scare, may or may not care about HONOOOOOOOOR), by process of elimination Jaune is Sokka.
Somebody should make a chart comparing ATLA characters to RWBY characters, because I have to wonder...

Kidnaps. It's still kidnapping people!
>:E
There is definitely something up with Weiss's brother: white fang sympathizer, EVIL , a plant by Salem's or an unidentified group, or some combination of the three.

.
I mean, we're all okay with making Colonel Schnee out to be the worst of the worst because mustached patriachs always are, I don't see why whathisface can't be. I'd be surprised if he was normal.

Yes he can, but that wouldn't allow the speculation train to roll...
