And saying "you must hate [insert show here]" is not doing that. It's a cheap attempt at invalidating someone's opinion by suggesting that since they don't like this show, they must dislike another show with similar elements, and that since the other show is brilliant, their opinion is somehow wrong. It's a really wrongheaded approach to discussion that proves nothing.
Telling Jovian he should stay away from Evangelion or FMA or Madoka because he didn't like how RWBY's plot turned out does not actually address any of his criticisms of the show.
I'll note as an aside that I like RWBY and FMA and loathe NGE and Madoka, so the idea you will like all of these shows or none of them is just silly to start with (and once again, FMA never pretended to not be dark).

It'd be best to just exit stage right from teh series once it stops being enjoyable...
Such is the consequence of having taste.

Yeah in terms of taste I share the Nostalgia Critic 's view of the topic. It doesn't matter what you like or dislike, it's about how you back your beliefs up.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.
You do realize Doug said that Nostalgia Critic is meant to be a shitty critic, right?
They just have to not be dismissive jerks about saying they don't like something...anything really.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. That was actually in a VLOG and out of character actually. The character would be far more black and white about the same issue.

Okay one: The Silver Eyes weren't a Deus ex Machina. A Deus ex Machina requires no foreshadowing or hinting prior to it. Ruby's Silver Eyes were foreshadowed, they just took three volumes to kick in, and the situation wasn't hopeless or unsolvable. This has been discussed multiple times.
Two: Yang hasn't been Put on a Bus. She's getting her own arc in Volume 4 because it seems that V4 is going to be bouncing around between each member of Team RWBY to see what they're up to.
Three: They are doing meaningful things. You say that the heroes couldn't beat the villains without a "Deus ex Machina", but Cinder's plan failed aside from her getting the Maiden powers. Destroy Vale? Failed. Kill everyone? Failed. As of right now, the only body count from Cinder's evil plan is two people, and one of them can easily be brought back because she's a gynoid.
Four: Your complaint about FMA has the same massive flaw: That's not a Deus ex Machina. You know what is? Rapunzel's healing tears at the end of Tangled; The Claw in Toy Story 3; Rexie showing up and chomping down the raptors in Jurassic Park; and the railgun in Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen.
I apologize if this seems rude, but people calling something a Deus ex Machina when it isn't really bugs me.

I do think that the Silver Eyes could have been foreshadowed much better instead of relying on one compliment a character got. It is like someone complimented your hair and three seasons later it turns out the character is Samson or something.
When is the episode available to those with RT accounts? I want to do my reaction writing as I watch the episode, so I want to know when it is fine to talk about it.

It's amazing how much better Sno(W)flake's voice sounds when she isn't acting uptight and snooty.
