Well let's see:
Aside from Neptune, all of them are based on literature that are widely considered some of the best (hell, Journey to the West is one of the Four Great Classical Novels
of Chinese literature).
I'm pretty sure Jaune didn't get it until she straight up kissed him. And then she died.
And she didn't say she wanted to go with him, she said she wanted go with someone like him. Which to some people would give it away, but Jaune has been shown to be dense enough in this area that I'd buy him still not getting it.

(2) Objection:
Journey to the West sure, but Peter Pan and Aesop's Fables are "considered the best?"
And Neptune, what story is he part of? Poseidon was in The Odyssey and even then, he's from Greek mythology, not just that story. I'm not familiar with Roman mythology or any related stories.
Hmm.

Someone like him...but not actually him. He did seem to be the low self-esteem type, this was probably the thought going through his head when she said that.
Team SSSN isn't just general literature. It's literature that specifically associates people with being animals.
In the Monkey King, there are lots of cases of people or gods being 'animalised' as punishments and to force them to learn wisdom.
As far as Peter Pan is concerned, the idea in the story is that all children come from birds, but Peter is closer than most and is implied to be half-bird.
The God Neptune isn't simply a water god (all sources of water), he's the god of horses, too. He gave the horse its purpose as a vehicle of war. The horse god Consus was eventually combined with Neptune to create Neptunus Equestris.
In a non-literary reference, King Neptune was also a WW 2 naval mascot and hero (he was a pig, and one of the Monkey King's companions in the Journey to the West is a human who has been turned into a pig-man as part of a punishment).
If we want to identify which Aesop's Fable inspired Sage, we need to find the Aesop's Fable that associated a human with an animal, because that's the literary theme of Team SSSN as far as I can see.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Jaune did get an understanding that her fame made it very difficult to make meaningful friends. He didn't seem to understand her exact feelings until the kiss.
Weiss intent seemed to be pair up with someone of known talent and she could rule the school with apparently.
"Shall I use you, or make you mine... I'm not so sure what I'll do." - DorthyYeah, Achilles' mother knew that he if was called to war against Troy, he would die. To prevent him from receiving that call, she took him to a island kingdom and made him a lady-in-waiting to the king, making the king promise he would treat his new 'maiden' as he would his own daughter.
There's some dispute as to what the name was. Issa is the name I've usually heard. Wikipedia says that stories have used one of three names - Pyrrha, Issa, Kerkysera.
According to the stories, he had a relationship with one of the maidens (the king's actual daughter) and got her pregnant. The son's name was Neoptolemos, but he was initially called Pyrrhos after his father's use of the name 'Pyrrha' while disguised as a woman.
Fun fact - the weapon that outted Achilles was a shield.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.I have a headcanon that Hazel is actually The Dragon.
I mean, while Watts was trying hard to look professional and Tyrian was trying hard to get taken to a mental institution, Hazel was just there, thinking. Saying only the necessary, and being professional.
And the whole "we have dealt with silver eyes before". I think he was the one who killed Summer.
Also he is being sent to whoknowshere while Tyrian and Watts are both going to Mistral, so he might be the last to go down.
This would make a perfect match for the Five Bad Band too:
Big Bad: Salem
The Dragon: Hazel
Evil Genius: Dr. Watts
The Brute: Tyrian
Dark Chick: Cinder

Where we watching the same fight? Pyrrha did well, but Cinder was in control for basically the entire time, and if not for Ruby, would have come out completely unscathed.
But I think the problem is that people expected the Maidens to basically be gods, when that was never really implied to begin with.

I don't expect them to be walking gods myself, but I'm still sure Hazel killing Cinder without too much trouble without an additional explanation or reason to his success would look pretty "So why are they bothering with that again?"
I'm also not really sure if I'd describe Cinder as being "on the ropes" in their fight, I'd more just say it wasn't clearly one-sided in Cinder's favour. Cinder got a few surprises pulled on her but never failed to return to signature smugness.

I didn't see it as on the ropes, imo.
Whenever Pyrrha got closer to get the edge, Cinder just powered-up and crushed her

So question. Is volume 4 episode 1 available to the public right now?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.

Because Team SSSN is just "literature" which is a broad category, whereas RWBY is "fairy tale literature" and JNPR is "mytholofical figures who cross-dressed," considerably more narrow.
I mean it wasn't footsies and promise rings, but it seemed close enough to "Dating without saying it out loud."
