I noticed the Geist Grimm made a glyph
before making a shadow arm to use a tree as an arm. It's rather similar to the one on Cinder's glove
that could summon a beetle. There's a good amount of talk about eyes recently.

No, she just looks better now...
It either looks like she has a Phantom of the Opera mask on half of her face or, more gruesomely, there's nothing but bone there.
You know, I really have to wonder why are those dudes in cahoots with Salem anyway. Male Bayonetta is bonkers, I'll give him that, but Watts and Hazel look like they have a good control of their faculties, the former in particular is all business-like. I mean, what forced them to ally with a lady who looks like a Grimm, resides on The Ominous Continent in The Cathedral of Sin where Grimm are born out of crazyass black ponds of doom just outside the window?
I also don't like Papa Schnee's new look. I'm hoping it's just because we've seen him straight on (we saw him from an angle at the end of Volume 3).
I'm guessing they think this is a world domination plan, and that they've been told they need the Maiden and Grimm powers to do it, and that the only one who knows enough to stop them is Ozpin - hence, take him out first). If they knew her real plan, they'd know that they'll be wiped out eventually, too. The alternative is that they do know about the destroy-humanity plan, but think that if they work with Salem, she'll spare their lives and just take out the rest of humanity. I'm betting she doesn't want to spare any humans in the long run, including Cinder.
I'm guessing they don't know the full truth given that she lied about Ozpin and appears to be lying about the Maiden power as well - Cinder's probably vulnerable to Ruby because of the parasite Grimm that was used to give her the Maiden power; it's clear the others don't know what really happened between Cinder and Ruby, and it's clear that Salem doesn't intend to let them know, so she's blaming Maiden power in general which hides the reality that Cinder's now effectively 'part Grimm'. That might mean that they don't fully know how Maiden power is inherited or how it's stolen. The clearly don't fear Cinder's power, which clues me in to the possibility that they have absolutely no idea what they're dealing with when it comes to both Salem and Maidens.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.@Wyldchyld: Given how incredibly vague the show has been about the villains' endgame, I would tend to think that it's going to be a bit more complicated than Kill All Humans if only in terms of the why, and I've thus far had a pretty good read on the first three seasons. Salem's obviously keeping things from her subordinates Ozpin being dead is the obvious one, even if he has some sort of Ressurective Immortality that's a Lie By Omission, but Emerald and Mercury were the only ones who seemed to be scared of her, so I'd tend to rule out them working for her in hopes of being spared. World domination seems most likely, though whether it's in pursuit of Utopia or Despotism remains to be seen, as does the extent to which that reflect's Salem's true agenda. Even if she turns out to have a Utopia Justifies the Means behind the Obviously Evil appearance, I imagine it'll come with a rather large asterisk that many of her subordinates would be rather uncomfortable with, ie Assimilation Plot, The Evils of Free Will, or something else of that sort. I still wouldn't entirely rule out a twist that puts her into Anti-Villain territory, if only because the Hidden Agenda Villain archetype is extremely prone to those sorts of twists.
As far as the maiden power having a weird interaction with the silver eyes, what if the "part grimm" thing doesn't just apply to Cinder, but to all the maidens? Cinder certainly seemed to think the power of the Fall Maiden was rightfully Salem's ("I will reclaim what is ours"), and there has to be a reason Ozpin was apologetic right before he flipped the switch to transfer the power to Pyrrha.
Also, does anyone theories about who that farmer guy was?

I think we can stop with spoiler tagging this episode now. It's been out for the public on the RT website for like 12ish hours (iirc we only have to wait like 30 minutes or something after the Sunday release before we go tag-free), and I'm pretty sure we didn't have to wait for the YouTube release last Volume.

On the subject of the farmer boy, there seem to be two main theories floating around: he's a successor or reincarnation of Ozpin/the wizard, or he's somehow the Spring Maiden (possibly as a reference to Princess Ozma, who in the Oz books is a girl who was transformed into a boy to keep her from taking the throne). It's a little too early for me to say what I think, but I feel like he'll have to be important given the focus he got.
Does anyone actually read these?- A puddle of ambiguous substance- oh.
- Again, I feel like the new Beywulf model just looks too edgy. Especially the head.
- So if Grimm come out of those pools, then what happens if you throw stuff in?
- Emerald finds it horrifying. Mercury just thinks that absolutely disgusting.
- Meanwhile, in the Brotherhood of Evil.
- "Excuse me for being never told where babies come from."
- You can laugh at your own jokes, but please finish the joke before doing it.
- "I have a damaged vocal cord, and I must scream. Emerald, scream for me"
- Salem, and her invisible Segway.
- Man, she's busty.
- Okay, her jewellery clinging legitimately hurts my ears.
- Watts, Age something, a professional smacktalker. Takes half a hour to trim his moustache every day.
- Salem, Age retracted, surprisingly constructive of someone's successes. Though you might want to look into the Ozpin part. Just saying.
- Cinder, Age seventeen(oi, oi...), +30 on all attacks, -10 on talking, -20 on eyesight, -50 on resistance to out-of-nowhere powers because.
- Tyrian, Age stopped counting, a highly functioning psychopath. Still looking into if he's a snake.
- Hazel, Age hard to tell, doesn't talk much. Will probably die first.
- Kahn? KKKAAAHHHNNN!!
- "Emerald, tell them to find that girl who ruined my keikaku. It means plan."
- Spring never waits. Spring has to be stopped. Spring must be captured. We need to make that one cherry blossom tree bloom.
- "Wait, just to confirm, you want her alive, dead or state that she longs for dead?"
- "Eye for eye, tongue to tongue, toe to toe, honestly I could go on with this". "I swear to God, if you don't stop talking you are going to get into the Grimm dip."
- Suddenly, some completely unrelated farm boy.
- I guess this is Harvest Moon now.
- And now for something more plot relevant.
- I wouldn't go with JNRR, just because we have a character called Junior.
- Suddenly, Shadow of Colossus.
- Well, bye then, golem.
- Nora, how the hell did you do that?
- You think? It is a giant rock.
- Ruby used Lighting Shot! It isn't very effective... Golem used Sand-Attack! Team Something is blown away!
- Does that really count as a nut shot? I would at least suspect problems with breathing, though.
- Yeah, that is not how strategists work. Even they need something to defend themselves with.
- "You puny mortal! You made my wood arm even stronger!"
- I guess you can use your gun as a boomerang.
- "We hit harder". "What do you think we have been trying to do, grind away with it with weak attacks?"
- "He hello to Miss Mallet Thunder, née Grenade!"
- "No, you broke my rock toy! I am telling mum!" "Yeah, no (shot)"
- "You know what, let's just not have a team name. Or just try to be cool with how to make our team names like that. Let's just call us Team With No Name."
- "They guy was hijacking all of our stuff. Even our underwear. Who does that?"
- Nora, no need to look like a psychopath for Jaune getting new swag.
- Come on Ruby, I bet you have something like teddy bear underwear somewhere.
- "Where did you get it from? And why was it covered in ash? Clean up your metals next time."
- "Still not a colour." "Then we make it one!"
- You're the strategist, you are the one who should have the map.
- Meanwhile, in the Schnees.
- So what butler are you?
- And I guess this is the end for now.
Okay When does Threatening turn into TOO EDGY/TRYING TOO HARD

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. We've got some more professional VAs working on the series!
J Michael Tatum (Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler, Scar from FMA Brotherhood, Kyoya Otori from Ouran Highschool Host Club, Owl from Deadland Wonderland, Erwin from Attack on Titan, Nishijima from Mirai Nikki, France from Hetalia etc.) is playing Klein (Weiss’ butler, just so you know).
Christopher Sabat (Vegeta and Piccolo from Dragon Ball, Armstrong from FMA/FMA:B, Zoro from One Piece, Jigen from Lupin the 3rd etc.) is playing Dr. Watts.
Josh Grelle (Armin from Attack on Titan, Yuki from Mirai Nikki, Ginoza from Psycho-Pass etc.) is playing Tyrian.
And Chris Guerrero (Cooler in Team 4 Star’s DBZ Abridged and Enrico Maxwell in Hellsing Abridged, Gecko from One Piece, Ichiya from Fairy Tail, Katsuya from Tokyo Ghoul) played the Faunus Blacksmith.
There’s also Mike McFarland (Master Roshi from Dragon Ball, Goemon from Lupin the 3rd, Jean from Attack on Titan etc.), but he wasn’t in the first episode.

New Rwby was super fun.
I guess the next episode will be Weiss focused then?
I like seeing the smaller villages. I'm not sure exactly what it is. But I love the traveling adventurers feel of it.
Also damn, Cinder. Ruby messed you up. And the Silver eyes seem to be Anti-Maiden! And Cinder seems to be Salem's second weakest Elite Four member!
Overall this was a very good episode. Definitely has me excited for the rest of season 4.

On the one fashion item that Rooster Teeth should definitely make merchant of: I doubt Ruby would know the significance of the Pumpkin Pete hoodie. Plus Jaune would have won it before he met Prryha. It does suit him though.
