The opening for the new Volume always comes up at the end of the first episode. Then it appears at the beginning of every other.
Also, some spoiler-y stuff.
The Evil League of Evil seems to treat Cinder like a small fry. Guess getting Maiden powers was supposed to be her ticket to Big Kids Playground, but someone haven't seen eye-to-eye about that with Cinder.
So, Watts is our faux-gentleman (and is voiced by Chris Sabat, wooo!) who's taking Cinder's place in meeting with Mistral informant, Tyrian is batshit insane, has a thing for torture (he looked borderline orgasmic after his "eye for an eye" comment) and reminds me a bit of Kimblee, and Hazel seems to be the most stoic and experienced out of the group, not counting Salem, and is in contact with the leader of White Fang, Sierra Khan (nod to Shere Khan?). Also, he's implied to have killed Summer, if his "We've dealt with her kind before" comment on Silver Eyes is anything to judge from.
And speaking of our Evil Witch, she sure knows how to make an entrance. And she now treat Cinder like her star pupil, even being willing to alter her plans a bit on her request, and now Chuckles Mc Gee is going after Ruby instead of looking for Spring Maiden. Oh boy. Though Cinder sure doesn't seem all that happy about being crippled (lost an eye, can barely speak, I think her entire left side is scared) and bound to Salem's side until her treatment is done. Can't be "feared and respected" when you evoke pity so much, huh?
Anyway, a quick transition and farmboy segment later (seriously, wtf?) we get RNJR/JNRR [decision pending] fight with the rumored Possesion-type Grimm called Gheist. This whole scene had nice balance of humor and action to it (guess we won't be all gloomy after all), with Ruby, Ren and Nora showing of more of their arsenal (different ammo clips for Ruby, Super Charged Hammer for Nora, boomerang capabilities for Ren's Stormflowers) and Jaune gets to be a bit of the Sokka of the team- spends some time as a comic relief (because he can't really do much without his weapon), but ultimately his strategy and orders are what allows to take out the enemy.
So RNJR have taken to some Monster Hunting while traveling to Haven to keep themselves up on food, ammo and upgrades. Speaking of, here we learn what's happened to Jaune's sword and shield- it got renovated, and he got himself a new armor to boot...using what's left of Pyrrha's armor (so I'm guessing her tiara and shield). And the shield got a little symbol of Pyrrha's hairdress on the bottom! Right in the feels. At least Crocea Mors looks more badass now.
Also, we've finally got reveal of Jaune's Hoodie Symbol. It's a rabbit. Pumpkin Pete rabbit. No super secret symbol of secrecy, just a hoodie he won from the cereal. Welp.
New opening is pretty catchy. And anime as f***. I love it.
So yeah, pretty strong Volume Opener.
It's good now. Hopefully it wasn't too late.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah... it's definitely earned it's place on Crunchyroll.
I'm liking the new opening more and more every time I listen to it. It's so... not quite upbeat, but lively, optimistic, catchy like you said.
4/3 > 2/1. Won't have an objective answer until Volume 5's comes out and I'm not suffocating on pre-release hype.
I'm glad it wasn't just me. Blinked twice and I expected to see a white fedora zipping through the air. It was definitely the braid, the only two characters I've ever seen with that ponytails that long are Kimblee and Jinx from LOL.
I thought that about Taiyang too, for a moment - what, his Semblance is shapeshfiting? Why do that to his own daughter. Having such an anime feel to it now, the opening is probably just using Taiyang to symbolize Yang's current turmoil. Interesting choice that it's Taiyang who makes Yang fall back like that. Also cute that she falls down on her right side, thought that might be nothing because if she's supposed to be off-balance she'd fall to the side with the arm, wouldn't she. Still, it got me pondering.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!People are taking the Taiyang turning into Yang thing in the opening way too seriously. Like, seeing someone you train with as a hallucination of something traumatic is imagery 101. I sincerely doubt he's a shapeshifter, since the scene of seeing Yang with two arms is immediately followed by her freaking out and Adam appearing behind her, unless you expect Adam to have paid her a surprise visit at home?
Also, unrelated, but does everyone seem way taller now? It seems like the new models are way taller or something, at least proportionally.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia! He stalked one girl to her school and set it on fire, might as well stalk the other one home and set her house on fire too.
I just noticed that Kimblee's doppelganger is Mr. Blades On Hands And Feet Guy, who we see fighting Ruby. Badass. Long name though, I'll call him Male Bayonetta until we have a name for him. I'm almost certain he's going to be my favorite new character this season, his facial expression and his fighting style say as much.
And Jaune looks certifiably more badass now as well. He seems to be walking a bit taller now. I can't tell if it's just the art upgrade but his armored hoodie looks a bit more... like armor now. Or maybe it's just the addition of the sash.

They don't look taller at all...it hasn't been that long, the only one who should look any taller is young Rwby and not even that much in 6-8 months.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Only a few hours left before the episode is out for everyone else and the servers once again must suffer.
Edit and just watched it. I'll give my thoughts on it in 6 hours when I get off work.

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2

Isn't it weird for an opening to come at the end?
It's called an opening for a reason, because it's the opener.
