I mean Blake shacking up with an actual pirate crew kind of makes sense. You want to hide from a terrorist, hide with an even tougher band of terrorists. And who would be tougher than people who go out on the open water and fight whatever Grimm come within two hundred feet? And being out on the water would probably keep her away from most of the White Fang, unless the White Fang have a pirate division of their own - we haven't seen or heard of any Schnee dust shipments on the water though, and well, airships. Why on earth would they even use boats to transport material when we have giant warships full of combat robots in the sky? Pirate RWBY coulda been a thing.
-sigh-
I like the Volume 4 designs but Blake looks too "superhero." Ruby looks like Badass Little Red Riding Hood - she's on a quest. Weiss looks like a Disney Princess - she's like a princess locked in a tower. Yang looks like she didn't ask for this - she's probably not doing any fighting this Volume. Blake is just... see if she was a pirate I could get behind it. But she's not. That outfit stands out, she needs a hood or something. I know this society values individuality but A) Blake hates the current society with good reason, and B) she's on the run. Dress like a commoner.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!She doesn't, I just like making that joke because her situation is similar: getting wrecked by some terrorist, (inevitably) forced to get a prosthetic, and miserable as a result.despite how awesome those cybernetics are (ex: Ironwood and Mercury).
She's also the only character seen wearing shades.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Adam threatened to kill everyone Blake loves and nearly killed Yang.
Blake freaked out and ran away from Yang to protect her.
Blake is now hanging around with Sun despite Adam's threat still hanging over her.
Ergo, Blake doesn't mind if Sun dies. At the very least, Sun is farther down on her list than Yang.
...
Come to think of it, she did this in season one too. Her friends found out she was a Faunus, drama occurred, and she ran away and hid with Sun until she felt comfortable talking to them about it.
He's her Foul Weather Friend. The person she mainly hangs out with because she needs someone to vent to and seek advice about all the drama in her life, who isn't really connected to any of it.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Quoi?
She has three people in her life who support her unconditionally including one who put aside her deeply-ingrained biases over it, people who go out of their way to try and get her to open up and stop pushing them away. And some guy who's trying to bang her is "the only one who really cares"?
That just sounds like the Cult of Only Sexual Relationships Matter talking. If anything, Sun should be treated with more skepticism about how much he really cares. Because he wants to bang her. That's a pretty significant bias.

He was joking. Though I agree that people acting like only sexual relationships can matter is annoying, but without that mindset, think of how many ships wouldn't exist? Wait, maybe that wouldn't be so bad.
And I know you weren't implying it, but I don't think most guys would go as far as Sun if getting laid is the only thing he cares about.

I can meet you halfway. As long as he's not forcing himself on her, he isn't scummy, just biased. You know, offer her a place to hang, flirt with her, etc. That doesn't make him bad, just...human...ish.
Dude is still clearing out the guest room. He's still listening. He isn't a bad guy...that we know of.

Oh. My bad.

That's not really meeting me halfway. I only said he's biased.
He's not being creepy or scummy or doing anything untowards. He's attracted to Blake and he's pursuing that attraction in a healthy and reasonable manner. By all accounts, he seems a decent enough guy.
I just don't like crediting him above the other members of RWBY when the key difference between his concern for her and theirs is that he wants something from Blake.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Yang possibly might have been less angry if she had not just recently lost arm trying to save Blake from Adam. This is also probably the kind of thing a partner should stick around for and not just run possibly without explaining anything.

No, we're just kidding. Blake and Sun are not becoming pirates. That was some people's (awesome) theories after seeing some V4 preview stuff.
