@LSBK I'm very much the same, particularly with the obnoxiousness and insistence. I'm cool with someone actually doing things. Like Person Of Interest, I'm a fan of how it handled things. Or hell, Brooklyn Nine Nine with Holt and the fact he's gay. I don't care about the couples existing. I care about the modern Fan Dumb I've encountered far too many times and how they act towards the creators if they don't get something that the show wasn't ever about.
Also, I agree both could be bi! Which if they are, that's fine. My only issue is that I think that in the modern day, bisexual women have become a new copout for creators to have what happened before and get their "representation" points. I just feel it's become more a matter of convenience as opposed to something used legitimately with characters.
Anyway, I hate when people play the progressive card in this context because I feel it's trying to force someone into making their fantasy canon. If people have it, that's fine. I just dislike those attitudes and rationalizing it by attacking the character of the creators. Not only is it disrespectful to the makers, it also harms the legitimacy of such movements because those who aren't using it as a pretext have to be attached to that Fan Dumb, which likewise bothers me.
...I just thought of the most spiteful thing I could ever see happen to those fans. ...Well, most spiteful thing without actually wishing harm on them, as that's too far for my tastes. Anyway, I now want them to both bi, but have no romantic interest in one another.
It robs that specific sort of fan of their usual rationalization why they should do it, but they still don't get what it was actually about.

Improving as an author, one video at a time.I agree you shouldn't call a character bisexual if you're only ever going to show them interested in any meaningful way in one sex.
I think Degrassi did it pretty well when they had a character say she was bisexual, and then made it clear she was actually open to relationships with either guys or girls from that point on.
I've found Degrassi handles all that stuff well. It's fascinating all over the spectrum for when someone is looking specifically for that stuff.

Hey what ever keeps the lights on. You don't complain with what you have to advertise, JUST DO IT, and watch the money flow.
@Prime_of_Perfection: And then bisexual males seem to not exist
Personally, my issue with Bumblebee is that it prevents Monochrome/Checkmating which is one of my favorite ships because of the sheer Dating What Daddy Hates of it. Well, that is unless you Take a Third Option and The Bee's Schnee's becomes a thing
That's slightly less rationale at first glance...

Improving as an author, one video at a time.Let's just say The Problem with Licensed Games is in full effect for the RWBY online team shooter.
As for bolting sexualities onto characters with no evidence...it gets annoying when people insist their view of a character and their sexuality is in the name of being progressive when it's usually for far more shallow reasons (Namely Girl-on-Girl is Hot). Or worse, when it runs contrary to how they act. Otherwise, whatever.

(¯~¯): That's a legit reason, eh.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. In my opinion even when I put shipping goggles on, I can't see some ships happening. Blake and Weiss, I can't see any cannon material to that happening. Ruby and Weiss, same thing even though Whiterose is one of the most popular parings they have little to no ship teasing that's not really reaching for something that's not there. Blake and Yang, I can see what people see as teasing but I also see it as meaning nothing at all. So this recent ship war just has me scratching my head but I have to remember they're ships you're not supposed to think about that long.

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Weiss and Ruby have a few things that are visible through Shipping Goggles. Only through Shipping Goggles, mind, but it's there.
Just off the top of my head is the exchange after everyone lands in the forest in season one. Weiss attempts to snub "partnering" with Ruby but then she sees that her alternative is Jaune - who by this point has already started making unwanted advances on her - and suddenly Ruby is the much more attractive offer.
The partnership in this context regards their teams at the Academy, but that doesn't stop shippers from taking it that way.
EDIT: Come to think of it, in general, the popular ships are divided along the "Who is whose 'partner'" lines from that early arc.
- Ruby/Weiss
- Yang/Blake
- Nora/Ren
- Pyrrha/Jaune

Yeah, among the plethora of interviews, the Season 4 trailer, and the manga announcement, there was a demonstration of a RWBY online team 3rd person shooter which I believe is for Steam and Xbone given the presence of Xbox One controllers.
It sucks. The presentation is bare bones, the controls wonky, the graphics meh, and characters go down like a bitch to mooks. As a guy who loves shooting games, I was frustrated with the game and soon quit playing to play more Tekken 7.

I guess my shipping goggles are either not powerful enough, rusty, or my personal bias is making seeing through them harder.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2
Well here's one that's pretty obvious through Shipping Goggles:
- Weiss: Shut up, don't touch me! -pulls Ruby closer in a hug while saying this-
But yeah, there's not really a lot in regards to White Rose, comparatively, to any of the other popular ships.
And again: My main reason for Blake/Weiss is simply because of the hilarity of the Dating What Daddy Hates aspect of it (that and from what I've seen, Monochrome/Checkmating fanfics are often better-written than others in regards to content, story and the character's personalities)

Yeah my shipping goggles suck I found that more funny than shippy.
As a White Rose shipper, I can also point to the food fight from Volume 2 where Ruby cradles Weiss' "dead" body and screams her name before going on a rampage and kicking Team JNPR's asses. Then there's the board game a bit later in the same Volume where Ruby jumps into Weiss arms while crying and you have this little exchange (paraphrased):
Ruby: *crying* "Be strong, Weiss! We'll make it through this together!"
Weiss: *also crying* "Don't touch me!" *holds Ruby closer*
Then there's Jaune going to ask Weiss to dance one last time while holding a white rose and then there's Weiss fiddling with a vase full of white roses at said dance but those don't really mean anything other than that the creators are assholes.
Other than that, that's basically it. Doesn't stop me from shipping it for the sole reason that I think they'd be adorable together. That being said, if it doesn't happen, I'll be disappointed but it won't ruin the show for me or anything.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
I always read that as more comedy than anything else, but fair! Hell, just liking it because it's adorable is a fine reason to ship and I do think they're hilarious together. They're one of my favorite two to see interact with one another as I enjoy their one-sided Vitrolic Best Buds.
@Tobias I'd argue Ren and Nora would be shipped regardless because they're Childhood Friends. Well, that and the fact we know for certain that Nora does have feelings. But ignoring the latter, the first is enough of a magnet. I imagine even if they weren't on the same team through some freak occurrence, they'd still spend tons of time with one another.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.Another one is Weiss introducing Ruby to the family. And this line:
- Winter: Greetings, Ruby Rose. I wish to thank you for taking an interest in my sister.
Nervous laughter...wasn't that awkward.
