Funny thing is I was going to make the same comparison. Ruby looks like an action figure now whenever she's standing still and I don't like it. Literally the first thing that came to mind was Berserk 2016.
Yeah but she's zipping through the sky like an angry bee now. o_o
It took me a few rewatches to realize that the part where that giant feather just slowly hits the ground and Ruby and Weiss sort of disintegrate into the background was actually the setup to Weiss and Ruby riding on the giant Nevermore.
The transitioning could've been better there, and the way the feather lands always looked really weird.
Could be worse, she could be wearing a bra of bandages/sports tape. I pity Cinder cosplayers.
...that sounds like Goldilocks to me?
- Goldilocks = Yang's hair color.
- Goldilocks walking into the bear's house for no real reason and eating their food on impulse = Yang claiming to be a thrill-seeker, and her flashback to walking into a house with Grimm nearby.
- Never seen again = Yang's looking for her missing mom.
- Her name = the name of Yang's theme song.
Next to Ruby:
- Red hood = Red hood.
- Red goes to deliver food to her grandma =/= Chibi Ruby did a play about it.
- Red is helpless against the wolf =/- Ruby kills wolves by the dozen.
- Red's innocence = Ruby's childlike innocence.
I would say Yang's similarities to Goldilocks are clearer Yang definitely has more. Ruby's are more obvious but there aren't as many.

But they do address that- when Ruby and Emerald are talking about Emerald's team in V 3 C 1, we are shown that their 4th member was Neo.
She's just that subtle...you can't notice her until necessary.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.@ Soble: She looks like that because the CG is more detailed, not because it looks cheaper.
I prefer it, and just like all change, people will get used to it and probably like it a lot more then Berserk 2016, which is objectively bad CG as much as its Subjectively bad.
Watch SymphogearOK I guess the opening is bigger than I thought.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Neo wasn't shown hanging with the trio in the academy because she doesn't socialize. It's part of her mystique. She doesn't discuss the plan or shoot the shit or even do much of the day-to-day work. I don't think she's ever even had a line of dialogue.
Her main contribution is appearing in the blink of an eye and being gone just as abruptly. She gets very little screentime because she's meant to be a mystery.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. There's a reason her Chibi incarnation resorts to Talking with Signs.

my ex used to call herself a member all the time in high school (and was always worried that i didn't find her attractive because of it), and i remember it being a fairly popular term to use all throughout my high school life. so you probably heard it in high school.

Eh, I kind of just assumed people thought they were there but just never said anything. Or didn't arrive yet. I don't know, it is a bit weird.
