I'm going Occam's razor on this one. Qrow doesn't like Ironwood and Winter, but that doesn't mean he mistrusts them. Compromised can mean that he was taken out of commision, not necessarily turned coat. And Qroe only saw team Evil for a second when saving Amber, so I don't fault him for not recognizing them in a different context where they just look like three normal students. Well, two normal students and a cougar.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Didn't RT say that Monty Oum left notes and outlines for eight seasons? Something like "Qrow is a secret traitor" would be a pretty big f*cking deal and would probably be included in the notes if, say, he's supposed to be the villain of Season 6 or somesuch.
"They haven't thought that far ahead" doesn't seem to apply when we know they have a set of guidelines for seasons to come. They're free to adjust it as needed, but a plan does exist.

Also Qrow's been hypercritical and spiteful towards Ironwood and Winter all season because he's anti-military. To use tabletop terms, Qrow is Chaotic on the Law/Chaos axis (and in all likelyhood Chaotic Good to Ironwood's Lawful Good). However, he knows Ironwood is a good man at heart and wants to do the right thing, even if he goes about it the wrong way (in Qrow's eyes). Randomly making all your robots start attacking everyone isn't something that would make sense for Ironwood.
And again: The flashback showed that Cinder's face was obscured by something whether it was the Maiden powers, or Qrow's booze, we don't know. But we do know that Qrow didn't properly see Cinder when he fought her.
Sorry for being late to the party, but I just woke up a little while ago and saw all this now
Dang, that's a cool look on Punished Yang there. Especially digging the bronze cap on the stub, that's not something you see often. The split coattails are appropriately impractical.

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I'm not really digging the split coattails. Even if you discount the impracticality of fighting in it, I'm not sure what the point of the split is beyond ensuring the audience can still see her ass through the coat.

A cape. It's long, flowing and can get gr- Oh wait, that happened several times and yet no one complained about Ruby's choice of outfit.
Which is why I discounted the impracticality, but the point remains that the split seems to serve no purpose but to ensure that the audience still has a clear, unimpeded view of Yang's ass despite the loose, flowing clothing she's wearing around it.
It's an ass window. That's dumb.

I doubt the writers thought that far ahead. If that sounds like a dig at them, it's not supposed to, it's just an observation that often applies to situations like this.
