You forgot a line.
I am the bone of my coffee.
Mug is my body and caffeine is my blood.
I have tasted over a thousand flavors.
Unknown to tea,
Nor known to decaf.
Have withstood pain to taste many flavors
Yet that tongue will never taste anything.
So, as I pray, Unlimited Coffee Works!
All the characters look the same in that flashback...she's not special, just old.

I thought that went without saying. Assuming most students start at seventeen they will be twenty-one at graduation and will spend most of their time at the schools as adults. I find it highly unlikely that, given the need to have more Huntsmen/Huntresses that they would therefore turn down someone who, for whatever reason, took a couple more years before applying and was thus already an adult.
I'm the same in that I hope Ozpin isn't The Wizard from the backstory. I feel making him the actual wizard is a Captain Obvious Reveal.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.I had to reboot my brain a few times after going through the ship spreadsheet. I think a few people on reddit need to be dragged out and shot repeatedly for not shipping Qrow with Kevin. Among other things.
Seriously though, the f**king dragon has ships.
Also, kudos to Remnant Orgy... without Jaune.
By the way, earlier on when I critiqued Qrow's alcoholism several people suggested it didn't matter because it doesn't interfere with his job. On rewatch I've got to ask, doesn't it?
Qrow is the one person in Vale who could potentially identify Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald. Yet despite having watched all the fights that they were involved with, he never does. Mercury fought his own niece one-on-one, and yet Qrow at no point gives any hint that he recognizes him as one of Amber's attackers. I can accept he might not recognize Cinder, who has grown her hair and is dressed differently, but Mercury and Emerald should both be pretty recognizable—particularly since Qrow actually went after Mercury during the fight, taking a swing at him with his sword/scythe.
Mercury recognizes Qrow afterwards, but Qrow is unable to recognize Mercury. Now, it's just possible, I suppose, that Emerald had something to do with that, but that would require the kind of adjustment we've never seen from her before. Moreover, there's another, equally obvious explanation, beyond simple bad writing—Qrow was drunk during the fight. We know that, at the very least, he had been drinking recently enough for the smell of alcohol to form a part of Mercury's description of him to Cinder. Depending on how blurry Qrow's vision was, and how hazy his memory was, that could be why he can't ID one of the people he's ostensibly trying to catch. And if so, Qrow's boozing has had very real effects on someone other than himself.
Did you remember the flashback?
Qrow couldn't recognize them because Cinder's partial Maiden Powers were masking them when he fought them before.
Because honestly, I doubt Mercury's fighting style is something super rare.
That too. Iirc, he was in the Crow Bar during the RWBY/FNKI battle and stopped watching after that.

Didn't he stop watching the fights?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. He probably watched the later fights since he was there. But given that it's shown that he looks at Cinder's face and sees it distorted that's likely means Emerald was masking them. Where as if his constant drinking was supposed to actually be a problem in his job they'd say so instead of just complaining it makes him look unprofessional but otherwise saying he's one of Ozpin's best agents.
It's hard to figure out what's rule of funny and what RWBY takes serious sometimes but considering SSSN and JNPR had the same tournament fight with one member doing near all the work while the others bungled around and it ended with a joke attack, but only JNPR was critized for relying on their best member as a crutch, or how just about everyone in show is dangerously reckless at some point, but it's only explicitly a problem for Yang, I think if something's supposed to be taken seriously, they'll say so, and Qrow's drinking isn't it. It's only a problem for his image.
No I completely ignored it. That's what the words "on rewatch" clearly indicate, right?
I rewatched the fight before I posted. Her powers are masking them, how?
We see a blur appear around Cinder, sure...a second before she disappears. It's not there during Qrow's initial attack. It's not there when she and Mercury dodge it. In fact there's no indication that she ever blurred Mercury or Emerald's images, just her own, and only then during the last second or so of contact.

JNPR might get more flak since the fight pretty much came to a halt twice. Though people were annoyed with SSSN's match due to Sage being taken out quickly, Neptune being useless throughout most of it, and it ending in another group knockout.
So basically Qrow couldn't see Cinder the only moment he had a good look at her?
