Het Is Ew is a trope, sadly. It doesn't get simpler than that.
Anyway, I doubt Neptune and Weiss would have any interaction. I can however see Sun being involved in searching for Blake, perhaps together with Yang.
Must Het Is Ew always go hand-in-hand with Die for Our Ship?
...
That's not rhetorical, I mean that as a serious question. I generally avoid fanfiction. I don't know these things.
Also does that make Adam an inversion on Het Is Ew? Because now I'm picturing him shouting "NO HOMO" as he cuts off Yang's arm and it's hilarious.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Probably not, but there's some significant correlation. There's some minor hints at Blake/Sun in V3, though. And I meant Die for Our Ship in the non-literal way, where a character gets demonized and generally shat on because they're in the way of a ship.
Oh, last question Tobias. Am I correct in assuming that Adam would be your least favorite character?
(Also, Yuri Lowenthal voices Mercury)

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%."Or "BE GAY ELSEWHERE""
Or, "THERE IS NOT GAY IN MY WATCH!"
"now I'm picturing him shouting "NO HOMO" as he cuts off Yang's arm and it's hilarious."
Now Im picture Adam choping a new part everytime they fail, to the end of the series Yang will be a floating head in a cyborg
Honestly, no. He's done a fine enough job for the role he's cast in. I mean, I don't like him on a personal level. I think he's a shithead who sold out his own cause that was already only extremist because of his leadership in the first place, and he's totally got the "Abusive boyfriend can't accept that his girlfriend left him and tries to make her love him by force" archetype down pat.
So I certainly would never want to go drinking with him and I'm looking forward to his ultimate demise. But, like. He's a villain. You're not supposed to like him or think that Adam/Blake is a lovely ship that would be delightfully beneficial to everyone. ...I mean, I'm sure some people do but they're weird.
I can't really think of any character I actively dislike, in the sense of not thinking they're doing a good job of portraying the role they're meant to represent. I'm extremely critical of Jaune on a personal level, I consider Ren to have little more substance than a walking punchline for Nora's comedy, I think most of Team Cinder would benefit from more development, but there isn't a character that's yet made me go, "I despise this character and don't think they should be in this show at all."
Jaune's come closest and even then, I'd rather just see him not be such a f*ckup anymore. They tried to have their cake and eat it too by making him the pathetic comedic relief while also making him the everyman who you're supposed to identify with and root for him to become awesome, and I don't think that combination worked very well.

Have you heard the lyrics to "I'm The One"? It's not much, but it sheds a little insight into Mercury and Emerald.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Team CRDL is again in that place where they're shitheads who are easy to hate, but they're meant to be the asshole team that antagonizes the heroes so, again, job well done.
I can't bring myself to hate the Unlikable Bully Character for doing a bang-up job being an unlikable bully. But I do resent the fact that Jaune's predictable, clichéd moment of getting to be cool and win their respect was cheated into the narrative by Pyrrha rather than something he earned for himself.
Jaune kinda needed that early win to help him become more respectable and justify his presence here, especially since the subplot that preceded it was all about the fact that he's a worthless cheater who doesn't belong here. Thus began the ongoing trend of Jaune's "pathetic comedic relief" role undermining his everyman shtick and keeping him from stepping up to carry his own weight.
It wasn't funny then and it's definitely not funny now. I desperately don't want Jaune to turn into Ben.Listen! He needs to start getting some good showings.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.So.... you're ignoring Jaune's Character Development over Volumes 1 to 3. Got it.
Pyrrha only made it so he didn't get whacked in the head by the Ursa Major when he was fighting it. Everything else in that fight was solely him.
Side note: The Walking Dead is a terrible series, and you're insulting RWBY and Rooster Teeth by comparing Jaune to a character from it. Especially the Telltale Games game of it.

I also don't really hate Team CRDL. First of all, the only one who has actually had characterization is Cardin. Second, Cardin is a bully who does bully stuff. Can't hate for a classic archetype doing what he is supposed to do.
Also, Tobias, I feel like you keep on ignoring that what Jaune lacks in skill, he makes up for being actually good at giving his team advice.

Only sometimes postsHis Character Development has been entirely related to the brief Love Quadrangle between him, Pyrrha, Weiss, and Neptune.
Like, the characters compliment him for how much he's improved as a fighter during his tournament match in season three, but that's just empty shilling. It comes right after his attempt at blocking a flying sawblade results in his shield being slammed into his own face, stunning himself for a moment. That's his improvement.
As for leadership, his victory in that match boils down to Nora being awesome in surprising and unexpected ways. He doesn't even seem to know about her Semblance until the announcer narrates it after she tanks a taser rod. It's only then that he thinks of having her absorb the lightning, but his follow-through collapses into bickering and in-fighting to the point that he takes a time out from the fight to try and teach his team what their combo moves are.
And then his ultimate plan is, "Since Nora's awesome, she can just win it for us."
Nora put in a fantastic showing in that match, but Jaune's still presented as the useless comedic relief grasping for relevancy that he's been since the beginning.
And then, of course, there's the Amber thing that I'm sure nobody wants to get back into.
EDIT: That's basically Team JNPR in a nutshell, really. Despite Jaune's leadership, they win anyway because Nora and/or Pyrrha is a badass.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Uhh.... No it hasn't?
On the Semblance thing: There seems to be a thing of "Semblance is unknown to everyone unless necessary to the plot". Hell, we don't find out what Yang's Semblance does until Volume 2 for crying out loud.
And I think the rest of his team knew what the combo moves were, they all decided to give Jaune shit for the names.
Honestly, I feel that you seem to ignore everything of Jaune's progression simply because you dislike him.

That entire match was fucking stupid, honestly. JNPR only won because their opponents had a death grip on the Idiot Ball.

There is, but that doesn't change the fact that Jaune only thinks of having her absorb lightning after seeing her do it in the match and hearing the announcer explain it. If they didn't want to communicate that Jaune is completely in the dark about her Semblance up to that moment, he should have had her going for the mountain before that for reasons only revealed when she absorbed the taser.
Instead, they were back by the mountain because the opposing team had a sniper and Jaune had no idea how to deal with that beyond screaming, "RETREAT!" at the top of his lungs. Despite the fact that two members of JNPR have shields, Ren can dodge bullets, and Nora is a ballistic missile hopped up on expresso.
And also that there was no cover by the mountain anyway, so falling back to the mountain just gave the sniper more advantage rather than less. She continues taking easy potshots at them until everything just stops for the impromptu team meeting.
That's not really how the scene is presented. He tells them to use Flower Power and everyone stops and gets confused about what he means, followed by him frustratedly trying to explain what the different combos are to them.
But even if that were the case, it wouldn't be any better. Either he's a shit leader because he didn't adequately prepare his teammates to recognize the signals he was going to start calling out to them, or he's a shit leader because his team has so little respect for him that they're willing to abruptly stop the battle and troll him for several minutes.
Either way, the tournament victory's still all on Nora, while Jaune continues to be the bumbling comedic relief.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Yeah, the scene of them giving him shit for the names was just a subversion of the same thing Team RWBY did in Volume 2. Jaune tries to be awesome and coordinate team attacks using the names people have given the ships only for his team to find the names retarded. Nora then going on to just win it for them was because the entire scene was already setup in Rule of Funny.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! The Death Stalker was definitely a great moment for him. It showed off his skill as a tactician and is the entire reason he was made team leader in the first place.
But that was way back in episode 1, and his showings have only gone downhill from there despite characters repeatedly telling us how much "better" he's getting. More moments like the Death Stalker win are precisely what I'm asking for in future seasons. Moments that show us that yes, he can be smart and contribute, rather than him being constantly useless for comedic or dramatic value.

I've got it! Sun gets it so bad because people are racist against Faunus.
There we go. I've solved it. We can all go home.
