That one specifically is never actually meant to be funny, it's just to easily tell of exasperation or anxiety when you can't clearly see a character's face.
You can tell...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.
I've seen plenty of occasions where it's been used for 'funny' because the exasperated/frustrated/'can't believe that's happening' reaction of the sweat dropper is effectively an Only Sane Man reaction or at least a 'what the hell are you doing?!' reaction to someone who may be acting unusually, or a character blurting out some truth about The Stoic that The Stoic doesn't want revealed.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Something tells randomness that they're doing it wrong...since the expression itself is enough.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Well, since we're talking about manga authors who have been in the manga-making business for decades, I'm going to guess that they probably have more experience with this than we do.
Edited to add:
There's a video on the other wiki that's alleged to trigger ASMR. It's quite possibly one of the most disgusting things I've ever watched. I had to stop at the point where you get to listen to the noise of someone slurping a drink on microphone. Seriously. What?
I'm guessing Jaune's scene is a parody of that video.
And, question from someone who isn't American: what is home milk?

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. It sounded like "home milk" when both Ruby and Yang said it, but if it is "whole milk", that at least would make much more sense.
I listened to it again with 'whole milk' in mind, but it still sounds like they're saying 'home milk'. Maybe my ears need cleaning out?

"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterGets the feeling they're trying to make Ren interesting for the upcoming season book.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. You think the series is updating the title for the change in main cast or premise like some shows do?

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I could see this being the RNJR show if it were a mini-season like Relocated (or if they'd shown us the journey to Mistral instead of seemingly skipping over most of it). We see Yang, Blake, and Weiss in the trailer sure, but then we'd be wondering what the hell happened to them if they didn't appear.
Team Jaune is the B-team sure but they've had minimal development with the exception of Jaune.
