Parable, I believe you're right on the money. Iirc, Faunus were supposed to be a stand-in for any kind of Real Life racism and discrimination, Black/White/Asian/Latino/Irish/Polish....
And hey, there's gotta be several incidences of Glad-to-Be-Alive Sex.

Why not shatter the rock some more? Obviously the check choice is Yang, because how good is a one armed loser? She'll last, but not very long.
I'm thinking that was joke material, because teens are the worst.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. If they were bashing soley from her fight with the Red Adam, would be close.
But it just seems to be a general case based on all feats.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. You know what? As far as beastkins go, Faunus are really disappointing. Like the only things they really have is night vision and some random animal trait. And mind you, it's really not apparent how much those animal traits really help. Like does Blake have better hearing than humans? Another example is this one female Faunus seen in PvP with tusks (fanart by Iesupa
). The problem is, the tusks come from back of her head and don't really stick out at all in front of her face. It's honestly surprising if she would even use them for anything.
But...they are better than humans, mostly.
Until we get to those that have inconveniencing animal traits like...tentacles, you can't walk on those.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.True, true.
That one was on purpose.
Just with night vision. Can't forget the night vision.
On one hand, racism is wrong. On the other hand, we've seen Blake succumb to baser instincts three times now - the laser pointer, ordering fish, fleeing from Zwei. What if Faunus take more dangerous traits?
Granted, we've only seen seen deer, monkey, some kind of wolverine, fish, and a bull. But what if there are Faunus that take from more predatory or territorial animals: bears, honey badgers, eagles? Which won't excuse slavery or discrimination, but still. Like the mutants from Marvel, fear of them might be slightly more justified than racism based on skin color.
I actually think the Faunus types we've seen thus far are kind of clever.
Sun's a monkey and he's agile, obviously. He's also mischievous and well, Chinese Zodiac
.
But with Blake, there's that common expression about cats always landing on their feet. She's clearly not any worse for wear during the Volume 4 trailer, despite being on the run. More importantly, Blake left a terrorist group and joined one of, if not the most prestigious institution in all of Vale. Now when does that happen?
There's Adam, a bull. Bulls react to the movement of capes, though the myth is that the color red drives them into action. Guess what color Cinder's wearing? Not only that, but he's all about "charging." His body language, the way he moves, he's always moving forward (even if not in the best direction). His special move also needs to be "charged."
We see deer and fish faunus a lot in the WF, they're stock character models probably. Deer do two things: stand around and get hit, much like the WF tend to do. Fish faff about, eat, lay eggs, get caught, or eaten by larger fish. Fairly boring creatures, ignoring their biology I suppose.
I got nothing for the elephant guy with the tusks, the one Roman insulted on the train. Maybe he'll have a strong memory and try to get back at Torchwick or Neo.
Aye, ye might have some subconscious biases swimmin' round in your noodle, lad.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Wolverine? If you're referring to Tukson Miles/Kerry confirmed several times, he's a Puma.
Wait.... FISH? There's never been any non-mammal Faunus shown on-screen yet. Where did you get fish from?
Also: Just saying, bulls are pretty damn dangerous, and territorial.

x4 That just feels like bit of wasted potential. No seriously, BlazBlue did the whole "racism forwards animal people" with beastkin, and they have been shown having better physical attributes than humans. Heck, most of the beastkin are not naturally born, and were created as living weapons.

That's may being why Adam's the leader of his terror groupies, maybe the more dangerous types don't wanna play that destruction game.
Adam's a bull? What gave it away, was it his red hair and sword?

Why is that usually the case? Racism is suppose to come from the self-superior race, but somehow the actually better race gets the worst of it.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Nope. No non-mammalian faunus has been shown in RWBY as of Volume 3's end, but RT has said that non-mammal-based Faunus exist but are much less common than mammalian ones.
He has horns and is named Taurus. Also, Monty/Miles/Kerry said he's a bull.

Well yes, that. But bulls and the color red are a misnomer, that's just to hide the blood when the bull is killed. I mean I guess the symbolism is still there. But him having a charge move and the way he constantly stalks forward in Volume 3 just occurred to me.

Of course...it's always the horns that I can never seem to see.

Unfortunately.
...and Unfortunately again, all that racism did was provoke the Bull.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Randomness is not color-blind, mang. I just don't pay much attention...and they don't really stand out to me.
Not exactly sure what it is...didn't even know they were brown.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. They were being sarcastic I thought. Ah, no it wasn't.
(2) The weeaboo in me would have thought of Red Oni, Blue Oni before making the bull connection, honestly. Adam's obviously a bit of a hothead. Not as hot-headed as Pyrrha, going in, rushing Cinder like that, no. Adam has a sharper eye when it comes to picking fights.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!@BSN I only see pure edge in that picture. Where are the horns?
Haha, Pyrrha is a hothead...
