Granted, if Pyrrha did not appear at the top of the tower, Cinder could very well do something to Smaugrimm to get its obedience for more nefarious ends.
Or, if it was Ruby who got on top of the tower first, we'd have a rather nasty Decoy Protagonist in play.
generally, yeah.
A Trolling Creator doesn't mean he's lying about everything.

What if she never died at all
There should be a maximum of 3-5 fake out deaths/resurrections: Penny, Phyrrah, Summer, and maybe 1 or 2 others (Side note: Ambiguous situations I.E. Falling off something don't count unless they were confirmed dead by the creators)

not cynical; realistic. also i think Pyrrha's death was perfect for the story (even if it made me sad) and her coming back would make her arc and decision meaningless.
ashes to ashes, pyrrha to dust.

As soon as Cinder got the Fall Maiden's power, Pyrrha had to die really. There was no way a character who was willing to give up her very identity and who knows what other side effects was going to stand by and do nothing. Especially since Ozpin couldn't hold her back.
Which is the only thing which bothers me. He clearly intended to hold her back for longer so that backup could arrive and he wasn't losing at all when the scene ended. Suddenly, Cinder is just done with him, but he's clearly not dead, as Qrow and Salem don't think he is. He even had time to keep his cane somewhere safe for Qrow to grab it later.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
