So she's one of those characters who can only consistently express their affection through violence.
Too bad for that guy, those are the most obvious hints...and she's so nice too.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Um... no.
"I guess you're the type of guy I wish I was here with."
If that isn't an obvious bait confession then I don't know what is. She practically set herself up for him to come swooping in but he missed the boat. If I was Jaune I would have took something from that.
Did he never consider she was talking about him?
You can't get it wrong if it's the truth!![]()

Because it's very clearly shown in Volume 3 that Jaune and Pyrrha weren't anywhere close to a relationship yet. Heck, it's only right before the Vytal tournament goes to crap that Jaune finally gets that Pyrrha likes him.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeHonestly, I think I've finally figured out why Pyrrha's death was so poorly done in my opinion: It was completely pointless. You could take it out entirely and literally nothing about the finale would have changed.
Think about it. Before the crisis even began, Ruby saw her beloved sister brutally attack a defenseless man she considered a trusted friend, then she discovered that said trusted friend was a traitor, then she watched one of her best friends die horribly, and then she sees her sister and one of her best friends got maimed by a psychotic terrorist.
Finally, when she gets to the top of the tower, what does she find? Cinder Fall about to murder Pyrrha in cold blood. Cinder, the girl she trusted as a friend. Cinder, the girl she confided in in Volume 2. Of the villain trio, Ruby clearly trusted C Inder the most.
And now she's discovered that the woman she trusted so much was the mastermind behind her sister's disgrace. Behind Penny's death. behind the the utter destruction of Beacon.
All of that should have been MORE than enough to trigger her Silver Eyes. But no, Pyrrha "had" to die as one final kick in the gut to both her and the viewers.
Well too bad, they said she's gone for good on the VOL 3 commentary, i believe.

Watch SymphogearActually Sion, they said that Dust and Semblances weren't magic, not that there wasn't any magic. Exact Words are a fun thing, ain't it?

She basically spelled it out for him at the dance.
