I fail to see why the show leaving stuff up to interpretation, especially something as likely to be developed later as the villains' true motivations (Salem and Cinder are basically guaranteed to be expounded on), is a bad thing.
Also, Emerald says something to the effect of "It's almost sad..." with a genuinely mournful look on her face when the trio are on a rooftop with Mercury recording the carnage. And Roman responds to Neo getting Mary Poppins'd with an anguished cry of her name, hardly the reaction of an "oh shit, now the odds are even against me!". Especially considering he proceeds to wipe the floor with Ruby.

In cinder episode there is a brief moment when Emerald said something and aparenly Cinder hit her, showing she is not enterly aboard with the plan, also moment before Cinder goes to the vault, we see her reaction and she is taken back for what is happeing.
And Roman reacion said much, he actually said "NEO!" which soudn worry, granted he is also annoy that Ruby STILL fight even when odd are against her but he and Neo since to share something.

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Season Book 4 has to be the time for Flashbacking, learning about villains happens after they win...but they don't win-win yet.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah, what's an Anime with only one group of villains?
They don't even need to clash, they just need to exist.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Oh yeah, many a motivations for the dastardly duo, Mercury and Emerald, have been well implied without being spelled out in a monologuing speech.
Merc murdered his father, a legendary assassin, who also raised him. He said he knew what a drunk's breath smelled like. When he saw Penny get destroyed and what that did to Ruby, he smiled. No, I do not need him to tell me he's a violently abused teen raised by abusive drunk and molded into a sadistic, sociopathic assassin he is now.
After snuffing Terk(?), where Emerald was the most outspoken to Cinder's criticism, the way she hung on her words. "We don't need him," followed by that slap in the black-fade. I don't need a map to tell me she's been made emotionally dependent on Cinder.
Now, Roman and Neo. Ya, when I saw it, his reaction stood out to me as Roman actually giving a damn. I don't need to be told explicitly that they have a connection.
Pyrhha had to play hero out of a misplaced sense of responsibility and paid the price for it, but hot damn did she hold her own for a while. Cinder got the mother of all surprise rounds on everyone. Ruby's power came the fuck out of nowhere.
And this entire series's scheduling meant it's tone shift came far too out of left field.

Mercury seen like evil version of yang: playfull and sportman like, the diferent is that she threat fighting like that while he treat MURDER like that
(but right now I see more parallel between her and Adam)
Also cinder cry a tear when Phyrra said "do you belive in destiny?" which implies she did and something bad happen to her, also when she said "such and arrogance" is hard to said what she wants but she follow Salem, who is the grandmother to CINDE Rella.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"How is Yang like resident Edgelord Mc Stalker Emo Yandere-chan?
