I just generally call them hunters. I only use Huntress to refer to the Main Girls usually.

[up][up] Considering the occupation of hunter has existed loooooong before anyone named Hunter, that sounds like a very pointless reason.

[up] I just call every Huntsman/tress Hunters.

I think "Hunters" is used for a catch-all, whereas the specific Huntsman/Huntress is used when referring to a Hunter who's gender is known.

[up][up] This is RWBY though. The name Hunter could've existed before the profession. Hence the job being named after them if they were the first to do the job. tongue

It doesn't really matter, it's not offensive...to someone.

That's just preference kicking in, which is probably why all three ways exist.

[up][up]If someone is named Hunter....why is that a problem, exactly? What, is like one third or half of entire population of Remnant named Hunter or something?

[up] I couldn't give a rat's ass about who gets offended, I just find it to be an unnecessary hassle.

We have a Ruby who leads Team RWBY. No reason we can't have a Hunter the Hunter.

By the way, I'd like to take this moment and gush about Team RNJR's name.

I mean, Team Ranger. That's kind of name that writers of bad OC teams WISH that they could've come up with.

I remember writing an OC fic, with the main OC team being called Team SCFR, led by Schiefer Freischutz (based on a play Der Freischutz).

I mean, I've come up with OC teams named CRMN (Carmine), TRKS (Turquoise) and ONYX (you have NO IDEA how hard it was to come up with an X color-related name)
