But I don't expect everyone to rigidly spoiler-tag everything for a week.
It wouldn't be a week. It would be 24 hours. The sponsors get a 24 hour advantage and then it becomes available for the general public.
That's how the sponsors on this thread work - spoiler tag for 24 hours and then five posts after it goes public (the last bit being Wiki policy). Not only am I very grateful for the sponsors doing that - I should clarify that I am not a sponsor - but they also tend to keep the spoiler tags going for longer than the requisite five posts after it's gone public.
I don't think we're going to be able to stop the posting to the work pages because I've asked in the past, and then it got worse (more fans troping, by the looks of things). So, for those 24 hours, I stay away from anything RWBY-related, then return to the thread after I've watched it.
However, I hate being spoiled, so I go out of my way to avoid spoilers. I don't expect the sponsored posters here to be perfect, so I don't assume they'll spoiler everything perfectly. That's why I stay away for 24 hours. That's my choice and I don't have a problem with that.
I suppose the issue will be for those posters who can't watch on RT's website and therefore have to wait for the week's delay to see it on You Tube? Is that what you meant by spoiler tagging for a week?
I wouldn't expect this thread to be spoiler tagged for a week in those circumstances because the show has officially gone public by then. I'm saying that as someone who intermittently does not have access RT's website videos (what's up with that?) and therefore has sometimes had to wait a week for the You Tube uploads to catch up.
How do other shows on this site handle it? This can't be the only show in this position. Bear in mind though, whatever decision was made, I'm not a sponsor and would therefore be in the non-sponsor group that's mostly affected by this.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.
According to some.RT's planning to release episodes for their shows a week in advance for sponsors
Time will tell if that's true and if RW By will be getting the same treatment

Really? Oh, well. It was an hour's gap for Volume 1, 24 hours for Volume 3, so I won't be entirely surprised if they do change it for Volume 4.
Guess I really will be avoiding this thread in future then.
I wonder if they're heading towards 'can't watch it at all unless you subscribe' territory in the long run?

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Deathbattle has their new episodes posted for sponsors(Screwattack is partnered with Rooster Teeth, and they share sponsorships) a 2 or more days in advance, and people there generally utilize spoilers well. However, if we are going to have a week delay between episodes, between the 2-5 pages a day or more of spoiler posts, and the fact a new episode will be up as soon as the previous one is available for everyone... *cringe*

Personally regarding Time Powers, I feel that they should have specializations and not generalizations.
Good examples of this: The Kanohi Vahi and Voporak from BIONICLE, and Ekko from League of Legends
- The Vahi has Time Powers, but it can ONLY the time around a given target can be sped up or slowed down. It doesn't allow Time Travel either... Unless you break it, in which case it crashes time itself, so that the past, present and future will be all happening at once. In other words: Don't do that
- Voporak has a specialized form of time control. Voporak can willingly give off a temporal force field that drastically ages anything thrown at him, this power becoming extremely potent through touch. Voporak is also sensitive to fluctuations in the fabric of time, allowing him to sense the use of and track the Kanohi Vahi. His Rhotuka has the ability to distort an opponent’s sense of time, knocking their perception of time backwards by several seconds.
- Ekko's Z-Drive (while Riot says it can be used for a lot) can speed up time for himself, and he uses it as a weaponized Reset Button and Save Scumming (kind of like the Prince). He fights by using his Z-Drive to rewind time to a "waypoint" he sets beforehand to give it another try if he screws up.
.... also, now I want to make a RWBY OC with Voporak's powers, because that's honestly one of my favorite applications for Time Powers

People reallly like the underdog story.
Purposely.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I want to see Jaune actually do something noteworthy. With help from Pyrrha, he went from "incompetent" to "can hold his own", but he's still outclassed by basically everyone except Team CRDL. Of course, we haven't seen his semblance yet, so there's that.
Personally, I'd rather see him turn into a leader-type character than have him turn into a one-man wrecking crew like most of the rest of the cast. We've seen a little of that (he is technically team JNPR's leader, after all), but we honestly haven't seen much leadership from any of the nominal team leaders. The closest we've gotten was Jaune directing the team during their four-man match in the Vital Tournament, and that quickly degraded into him embarrassing himself by calling orders that his team didn't understand and trying to stop and have a team meeting in the middle of the battle.
I feel like one of the main weaknesses of the protagonists compared to the antagonists is that they don't really fight as a team. They support each other to some extent if they happen to be fighting the same opponent, but there's very little in the way of pre-planned strategy or deliberate use of tactics. Nothing even as simple as Ruby saying something like "Blake and Yang go after the big guy, me and Weiss will keep the small fry off you". Compare this to Cinder & co, who clearly have strategies worked out in advance, and do a much better job of fighting as a team even when they don't.
Jaune's the only protagonist who's shown any kind of inclination toward leadership in combat. I have fond visions of him directing two or three combined teams at once in order to take down Cinder & co.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Adam right now is a Base Breaker, because he threatens Bumblebee. I'm on the camp that he has a really awesome fighting style and that he can potentially get a lot of development as a villain.
I think the Adam avatar thingy started when one day after a long argument in this thread, i decide to change my avatar. It all snowballed from there ![]()

Uni catI really dislike Adam as a character. He comes across as a creepy abusive dude who's half lover and half father figure for Blake, which is intensely uncomfortable at the best of times. His motivation is fairly boring ("humans are jerks so kill 'em all!"), and his combat performance so far has been so overwhelming that he feels like another instance of Only The Author Can Save Us Now.
In other words, he's not fun to watch, he's not an interesting character, and his presence doesn't improve the plot. Meh all around.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.

If she doesn't fight up front she doesn't really have any options that will help. Hit and Run just doesn't seem to work on anything on Salem's forces level.
It might make the fights less interesting but it's an consequence of power scaling. Otherwise Blake will be that character that's of no help and has to let the guys with the super powers do the work for her.
