I'm still wondering if he literally has iron wood...
The trouble is, it's supposed to be Ironwood's job to push the buttons.

I watched the livestream just before the final episode, and they did address the issue of Ironwood's... iron wood. Their official response was that they "have no idea" where the metal ends and the biology begins in that particular region of Ironwood's body. Then they laughed.
They left enough outs that if they brought her back in some fashion it wouldn't seem like that much of an ass pull. That doesn't mean they should. But they have options.
The aura thing with Jaune for one could keep her presence alive in him.
There was also her being part of the transfer with Amber when Cinder took her power, which could mean some of her soul actually went to Cinder, which could manifest in her from time to time.
Or it could just be that some of her soul was left in the machine, and combined with the above two, mean some of her soul is still around, which could be used to make a robot in her likeness in the style of Penny, which would be technically a different character.
There's also Cinder turning her to dust while she was still conscious as well. That looks pretty final, but Cinder's shown the ability to break down and reform things with her powers and they also said that people are created from dust. That and they above of fragments of her soul still potentially being around could mean Grimm minion Pyrha that some have suggested.
Granted this could all mean nothing. But they have left enough points to work with something. Where as if Cinder just shot her with 10 more arrows and she just bled out on the ground and died right there that would look more final than what they did.
Time Travel is a really easy way to fuck up a story that isn't built around it. I hope they planned this out.
When Time Travel is involved, things get needlessly complicated. If they plan to bring Pyrrha back, i pray is not by time travelling
I second that

Uni catTimey-Wimey Ball gets added to the trope page of RWBY.
Me: Fuck. Time to make some flowcharts...
Aside note, time to make some WMG that could only happen via Time Travel:
Qrow is not Ruby's father. He and Raven are her children.
Which would make Ruby into Yang's grandmother... Oops.

If Phyrra does come back to life/revealed to be not dead, my preference would be that she's brought back by Salem and Cinder rather than Ozpin (since he either has time manipulation powers or is just that fast). In order to preserve the impact of her death scene any survival is going to have to leave Phyrra worse off and basically make death a preferable alternative.
My pet idea for a Phyrra return would be that she gets reconstructed from ashes by Cinder in front of Salem and is gradually beaten down mentally and physically into agreeing with Salem's goal and joins team CME (tentatively named Team CMPE or "Camper" in honour of their use of less than honourable tactics) to oppose Team RNJR. Bonus points if Phyrra is so broken that she reacts emotionlessly to seeing her old friends and treats them like any other opponent. Extra despair points if Salem's powers is the only thing stopping her from dying to the arrow in her chest and Jaune has to chose between stopping Salem or keeping Phyrra alive.
I really hope that Pyrrha doesn't come back, even if it means erasing all trace of her, even her soul.
Only sometimes postsOoo... Love to find out what happens after death in Remnant. Reincarnation, move on to a better place, stick around as a ghost, become dust crystals, become- Wow, this is getting dark. Who knows, maybe we'll get someone to tell of a fairy tale or something. With the death of Pyrrha, and the unusual circumstances around itnote , we've got the perfect excuse for ghost stories courtesy of Noranote .

Uni cat

Hey now, it could have been before the elevator ride, which they rushed to and desperately tried to make themselves presentable during.
