I'm not sure RWBY are gonna end up the Maidens anymore. I think that just a red herring or obvious set up only to do something different. Or as my friend, who riffed the first 3 seasons with me said (4 main girls and 4 powers exclusive to girls. Gee I wonder what's gonna happen).
But instead a different heroine was set up to get the power, and then the villain got it anyway, while the main character revealed a completely unrelated super power instead.
So I think they'll do something different with the maidens. Maybe Salem will get them all. Maybe a new character yet to be introduced will get them. Maybe only one of RWBY will get them. I dunno, but I think RWBY becoming the 4 maidens was too obvious and exactly what they wanted you to think only to do something different.
Except Ruby having power is what many expect them to do, is the typical "she/he is just a typical teenager...who just happen to be special for X reason" she is now the "girl who lived"
Also the Maiden are tie with Ozpin and Salem for some reason, that make them important, so having been something else would be a bad payoff
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"My train of thought for bring back Penny got slightly derailed when thinking about the seven dwarves: Weiss ends up with seven chibi Pennys (Pennies?) following her around.
Also, Weiss should be the one to dispatch the Grimm Dragon Wyvernnote so she can summon it later.
Someone will have a dragon that they ride/fight with. A real, non-Grimm dragon.

I found something interesting on the whole Sam vs Raiden thing
:
After stumbling through trope pages, I came across something that rung a bell from one of the stories Pyrrha mentioned in V3, E6: "the tale of the two brothers." There is a story in the Brothers Grimm collection called The Two Brothers. I wonder if they're related in some way, either as a Shout-Out, or as both stories being the samenote ?

The final battle with Adam will result in Yang getting injured which causes Blake to go ballistic and beat Adam. Blake will then cradle Yang's body while sobbing and confessing her love. At that moment, Yang wakes up and the 2 share a passionate kiss.
Cut off one head 2 more shall take it's place! Hail HydraSame thing, different breed.
A wyvern is just a specific type of body shape for a Dragon, which aforementioned Grimm has (two back legs, two wings, no forelimbs), what people are referring to as "dragon" is properly called a Wyrm.
Side note: Dragons of any type don't need to have a Breath Weapon, it's just very common. Chinese Lungs almost never have them in the original stories.

" while briefly hinted in the first episode two years prior is something that came completely out of left field."
And the maiden think come out of the blue without any warning whatsoever
"There is a story in the Brothers Grimm collection called The Two Brothers. I wonder if they're related in some way, either as a Shout-Out, or as both stories being the same"
Now that is intersting.....
Also depending of what they want to adapt, Sun would be ket in defeating Adam as Sun wukong manage to defeat the Bull king....but who knows
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I'm really tempted to give my spin on how things could get darker. But then I'd be a hypocrite. But injecting more poison into the discussion might slow the anathemanote , or it might make things worse, and I'll Never Live It Down.
Ruby's eyes are foreshadowed in the opening credits as well. Look at Volume 3 where Ruby and Cinder are fighting. The clash ends with the camera zooming in on Ruby's eyes as the screen turns white and shifts to a new scene.
The opening credits are worth watching carefully. Miles and Luna did say that they do put foreshadowing into the opening credits to see if anyone can catch them (both before events and with hindsight).

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Honestly, I wouldn't call Ruby's eyes being Chekhov's Gun. More like Chekhov's Coloured Bullet. Something so insignificant that it being a Chekhov's Gun is just ridiculous.
Only sometimes postsI don't really mind the reveal at all, because it didn't save the day or anything. Sure, it froze the dragon, thus preventing it from being a continuous threat immediately, and it freaked Cinder out a bit, which was fun, but aside from that it didn't really change the fact that Cinder got what she wanted and seemingly got out. It was meant as a flashy reveal for the silver eyes being a source of explicit power, and thus revealing the next form of power Ruby can manifest.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia!Damn it now you are making me think that there are angels in RWBY with the angels once living among the humans and after the great war involving Salem retreated to an area outside of Renmeant. Salem and Ozpin being former angels will extremely high power and forced to take a body of mortality. Summer being an angel as a child accidentally fell to the ground, her no longer remembering her childhood as an angel and was rescued by Taiyang and Summer decided to call herself "Summer Rose". Ruby being a half angel/human. That's not a bad idea
