I mean, new characters can be easily introduced; especially since we'll be seeing new environments now.

[up][up][up] They can't keep on killing main characters at this pace, but they could do the thing that Attack On Titan and several other series do and maintain a sizable cast of Mauve Shirts who can be killed off at any time. The tournament teams, SSSN, and CFVY would be the sort of characters to expect in that scenario.

As far as the show's total length, 9-12 seasons is the likely final length, though Monty had ideas for up to 20 volumes if the show needed additional volumes.

Heck as it is I think it was way too soon to smash the foundations of the show like they did (3 seasons, they're still in their first year at Beacon, well if they ever go back to Beacon) and they'll have a real hard time doing anything like the dance or the food fight stuff again, after how real things got.

They probably be promoted to Hunters when this story's over. The successes will speak for themselves

Monty had plans for the girls to reach adulthood(I wonder when adulthood is in Remnant?), so they should be safe in the end, and come out victorious. Of course, if Miles and Kerry wanted to, they could rule Monty's ending to be a Gecko Ending, and create one of the biggest salt mines ever by giving the Series Finale a Cruel Twist Ending.

So is anyone here also a Gravity Falls fan?

Because the finale had an Achilles joke, and I want to know if I wasn't the only one who thought "Too Soon".

Have there been statements on how long RWBY is planned to run? I heard Monty had left enough for V5 but hadn't heard anything past that..

[up]Monty had enough notes left before his passing that allowed Miles and Kerry to easily make up to at least Volume 5. Monty said that if fans wanted it, he could make it a Long Runner, with the main cast reaching adulthood (and by that I think he meant mid-twenties at the least)

[up][up][up][up]wild mass guessRWBY will end with a Downer Ending. About a year after that, they'll release "RWBY GT" or something like that that's basically Volumes 1 and 2, except with even more Slice of Life elements poorly meshed with an absurd power creep. wild mass guess

I would be fine with RWBY ending after 12 volumes or even 15. I don't know if making it a long runner would work but it's going wonders for RvB

Monty left enough for 20 seasons (and they said they could even go past that if they wanted) I don't think they have a set plan though. I think they're just gonna run it as long as it sells, much like their other stuff.

CaptainCapsase from Orbiting Sagittarius A* Since: Jan, 2015

Monty's ideas for the girls reaching adulthood was an idea for what could happen if he show went on past the planned finale for whatever reason, IIRC, and it didn't specify team RWBY as a whole. Either way, I am perfectly fine if Kerry and Miles want to do their own thing.

20 seasons is fine as well.

Though i wonder how are they going to keep thing interesting. Which folk tales or legends could they introduce?

[up] Workaholic indeed

[up][up]There was a reason "Monty, get some sleep. Monty, take a break" was a meme amongst the RT and RWBY fanbases. Monty was a workaholic to an extreme.

[down]Pretty much. A previously-unknown allergy to something that they've done before (medicine in MJ's case, anesthesia in Monty's) ends them. So sad .

Hiis death was due to an accident during surgery (well actually an unexpected allergic reaction.), nothing over-work related.
