Honestly I'm really interested in what the villains are getting out of this plan. It seems like the Grimm invasions aren't just a byproduct of their plans but their actual goal if Salem's speech is to be believed.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.RWBY Character Alignments?
Blake, Nora, Oobleck, Qrow, Ruby, Sun and Yang all strike me as Chaotic Good. Ironwood, Pyrrha, Weiss and Winter are Lawful Good. Jaune, Glynda, Neptune, Ozpin, Ren, Penny and Port are Neutral Good.
Additionally, all of the villains thus far are Neutral or Chaotic Evil.

It seems the endgame is to engulf the world in a war so big that it drowns the mankind in Grimm. Why exactly is to be seen, but it might be that Salem is doing this out of spite for Ozpin.
@On Cinder: ...think that would be enough, yeah. Of course, assuming that Cinder really is enamored in Salem.

This is kind of a stretch, I can sort of imagine Adam as Lawful Evil. We haven't really seen the way he runs the White Fang, but I have to think he keeps the organization internally orderly, at least.

I'd like to be the first man on the moon.I could see Yang going Chaotic Neutral the next few volumes. I'm not sure but Raven might be either that or True Neutral.
Lawful Evil on the heroes view, even though his last stunt would make everyone think he is Chaotic Evil

Violent, abusive, racist.... No. Maybe Knight Templar thinking he's Lawful Good, but he's firmly in the evil territory.
Also, you can be Neutral Evil leading a Lawful Evil organization. Just ask Sheev Palpatine

Lets see:
Mercury and Roman are Neutral evil(selfsh prick but no more than that) Emerald border on Chaotic neutral(typical for a thief) Cinder is pretty much in Chaotic evil or lawfull evil depending how devout she is of Mother grimm.
Qrow,Ironwood and Ozpin run the spectre of Chaotic,Lawfull and True neutral. Glynda.....I dont know.
For the girls: Ruby is Neutral good,Weiss is lawfull good and Blake chaotic good, Yang border on Chaotic neutral a times
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"@Adam: Lawful Good for his people, Lawful Evil for everybody else, Chaotic Evil for Blake.

Fairly certain (s)he meant Lawful Evil.
This is the heart of the problem with character alignments; they really don't reflect the fact that morality is totally subjective; to one group a person might be a hero, to another a monster.

Yes, Lawful Evil is what I meant. My brain needs to start paying closer attention to what my fingers are typing.
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.Well yes, of course, but at the very least Adam is shown to treat men under him in high regard.
Like, if there was some WF mook under fire, chances are Adam would go get him if possible.
@Alignments: Yup, that's pretty much it. Well, at the very least the D&D alignment grid is enough for some barebones affiliation.

Hence, Neutral Evil. If you balance between Law and Chaos, you end up with Neutral.
And seeing as how RWBY has the Grimm, which are Made of Evil.... Theoretically you can assume that RWBY would also follow the Objective morality system.

Cinder seems Lawful Evil on her objectives but Chaotic Evil in practice. Neutral Evil should be more or less her defining alignment

Uni catOne almost gets the impression WF is just a disorganized rabble if Adam's not around to keep an eye on them.
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.I think we should stop this Character Alignment discussion before it gets out of hand.

You know, if all of Cinder's actions were done out of a misguided desire to please Salem, and then she ended up being betrayed and tossed aside by the one she regarded as her goddess, I would actually feel kind of sorry for her.
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.
