Okay, shipper's delusion time! How could Pyrrha survive in some capacity? So far I got:
- The aura transfer with Amber was a partial success, and so upon killing her, at least a portion of Pyrrha's soul went into Cinder. I feel this one could be done reasonably well. Bonus drama points: eventual faceoff between Cinder/Pyrrha and Jaune.
- Ozpin and time travel. Now, before you yell at me for it being a copout, here's an idea: changing the past is not something you should do. Jaune (or Ruby) has to choose whether to let Pyrrha die again or saving her knowing it'll fuck everything up.
- Reconstitution by Salem into a semi-brainwashed servant. This one writes itself, really.
Any others?
And what role was that? Because the story set up way too much with her character just too leave it blank. It's easy to kill a character off rather than resolve what the story set up.
It's called a cop out.

Great, now I can't help but envision this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihaa4YypVDE

Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?I like Jaune and Ruby as friends a lot. I hope they don't get together romantically. It'd reek of Replacement Goldfish.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.The entirety of RWBY is an in-universe show, and the actor and actresses were pretty stressed out on how intense the past episodes were. The finale made was insane.
Jaune's actor and Pyrrha's actress are real life couples, and not-Jaune spend his whole day comforting not-Pyrrha over her character's death. Bow-chicka-bow-wow.
Then they live happily ever after as not-Pyrrha spends her time watching not-Jaune playing his part for future seasons and cheering him on.
A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them.@Ninety: And yet that's exactly what seems to have happened between Taiyang and Summer. For better or worse, people very frequently take after their parents when it comes to their choice in romantic partners; the logical conclusion of that being where the Oedipus Complex and Electra Complex come from.

Since the Maiden powers get transfered to the last person in the mind of the dying Maiden, or perhaps to the other portion of the power, when or if Cinder dies, the power will go to:
- Salem
- Emerald
- Whoever kills Cinder
- A portion of Pyrra's soul that managed to end up somewhere.
If Cinder manages to NOT die, she's either a Karma Houdini, or suffering from a Fate Worse than Death.

I just got a ; how about instead of getting Penny back or Pyrrha back, we get a second android made in Pyrrha's likeness?
@Ninety: in the context of the characters, I'm fine with it if it's something that players out gradually over the course of the entire series; most people don't mourn forever.
@Will: The only way Cinder gets anything resembling a Heel–Face Turn is via Redemption Equals Death, and given what she's done to our heroes so far, there's no way she's surviving if that doesn't happen.

What Cross said. Pyrrha went up there knowing full well that she was walking towards death. But maybe, just maybe, between her and Ozpin Cinder would be worn down enough that QGI can finish the job.
She believed in her destiny all the way to the end, and thanks to her sacrifice, Ruby can give the world a fighting chance.
Edit: Fuck this thread is moving fast.
