I mean, we might lose Mauve Shirts like the tournament team characters and maybe even one of the secondary teams like CFVY or SSSN, and we'll definitely lose Red Shirts and walk ons, but I agree, major characters probably won't die for a good long while.

The next volume will be about soldiering on in the face of despair... The heroes building up
Similar to how Cinder was in the background with ther plan looming... The heroes will seem to not accomplish much but as it gets closer and closer the pieces come together and the Villains get the black eye they deserve.
Praise be to the absolute QueenFun, sad, dark finale and the super Big Bad had a hell of an intro.
However, I think Cinder's defeat was a little fast. It's just, BOOM, new Super Move out of nowhere and that's it for the villain. I don't know, I just think that the entire episode should've been everybody who was left fighting Super Maiden Cinder. Ruby, Jaune, Weiss, Sun, Nora, Ren, Ironwood, Glynda, Qrow, Port and Oobleck backing up P-Money in her fight. If it's gonna be a finale, make it an over the top one. Then at the end, when all seems lost, THEN Ruby busts out her Deus Ex Eyes Power with the following episode covering the fallout.
Some more foreshadowing about the Silver Eyes through the seasons wouldn't have hurt. As it is, they got mentioned all of once at the very start of the show and only became a factor again here.

Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?Yeah, as far as the main cast goes, volume 3 broke them, which means volume 4 is to rebuild them.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/They
I'm not so sure of that; I personally suspect RNJR will last for more than a volume; it might even go on for 3, with the finale of season 6 being the triumphant reunification of team RWBY before the last three seasons act as the finale.
So yeah, anyone want to guess if we're going to see some Mauve Shirts bite it in the next season? It's a good way to keep the tension up.

Broken on the anvil, and reforged in the fires of battle
And on Cardin: I have a feeling he and his team might end up coming back after re-evaluating their life choices, and aren't assholes anymore. Still jerks, but more along the lines of The Rival of jerks and not jerkasses

I could really use a Hell Yes moment. V2 finale tried for that but failed by not having the situation be dire enough. Velvet's moment in V 3 E 11 kinda managed that but mainly because of I May Fall.
I truly do hope this is the Darkest Hour. It'll be a while before next volume, but they've set the stage for a very satisfying comeback.
I hate to talk about death again, but... whatever happened to team CFVY? Did team BRNZ made it out okay, and teams NDGO, FNKI, and ABRN? I remember a post that one of team BRNZ was being carried off by a Griffon... did he make it? Did he died?
How are the supporting cast dealing with these madness? Especially the foreign teams; they can't even contact their family to tell them that they're okay.
They are stuck there as long as the CCT is down and since it's located in the vicinity of Beacon which is now Grimm Country they're all fucked.
... Man, who knew that this heartache and grief can give me the creative juice? I wonder if the fanfic writers are making something good from this.
A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them.I also have to disagree with some comments earlier saying how they should stay dead to add stakes. You shouldn't kill a character off for the sake of raising stakes. Thar's a pretty shallow way of getting people invested. There death has to happen for a reason.
And I have to agree about killing Pyrika off felt....incomplete. Her entire arc didn't feel resolved that well. And simply saying that's how real life is just seems like an excuse to excuse bad writing. Fact of the matter is that RWBY isn't real life, it still a story that still needs to be told.
But don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the finale.
I don't get the whole "it doesn't feel resolved" type of complaint. That's kind of the point to me. That's part of the tragedy that is murder. It's cutting things short, it's the end of all things and there is no coming back from it. It's why such things aren't an ideal thing to inflict on somebody because of how permanent it is and all that is lost due to it.

Improving as an author, one video at a time.Phyrra arc was until this point, she was given the chose to fleet or fight and she chose to fight, that is best, she didnt die painfully or quickly, she fight into the bitter end and manage to defied Cinder until the last moment, that is all it was need it.

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"No, it doesn't. Fridging is when a cackling villain kills a helpless love interest to motivate the hero. Not when a warrior sacrifices herself to try and stop the villains despite knowing she has little chance of succeeding.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.
It has some elements of fridging, particularly given that Pyrrha's death is almost certainly going to be a catalyst for Jaune's development, but it's the good kind of fridging; Pyrrha was clearly The Paragon of our group of protagonists, and given how well she fared against Cinder, probably one of the best fighters in the series without any sort of special (for the setting) powers. Her death is poised to serve as a catalyst not only for her love interest, but for her friends as well, particularly Ruby, who once again displays a truly remarkable mental fortitude in the face of losing friends.

I mean, Spock's death in Wrath of Khan still leaves a huge impact, even though he gets brought back in the next movie.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
