Uni cat"I wonder if Ironwood's Compensating for Something. Maybe it's advertisement for his iron wood."
maybe penny is not a robot and just a natural daughter of Ironwood

About Raven...yeah, she see to be the one of "we pull or on weight in the world, ether you do or you fuck off"
Also I have the theory that Adam went to off-screen land to perfect his sword technique, that is how he can null aura in one-hit.
That of he went to learnt in rumonori kenshi universe.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"At this point, we know pretty much nothing about Raven's personality, her reason for leaving Taiyang, and whose side she's on.
Telling a family member not to expect mercy a second time is a he of a lot more than many historical cases where family members were pitted against one another in armed conflicts.

Oh God, I'm getting real sick of people adding speculation in Nightmare Fuel and Fridge Horror section.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.Basically, one of the Fridge Horror entry said that Adam has a sword that can bypass Aura and was freaking out about that fact.
I deleted that entry, saying that we don't know the exact circumstance of that. For all we know, given that he was strong enough to disintegrate an entire medium sized mecha at the end of the Black Trailer, his attack was simply too strong for her Aura to block.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.@Fergard Stratoavis Possible on maiden thing, but still would wonder why wouldn't just want all the power. Besides, I still think this is just tacked on example since she's shady. I've a feeling she's going to be more of a Wild Card than a Big Bad.

Improving as an author, one video at a time.@Aura: If that's how it works, total damage should still be His Power minus Her Defense.
I mean, we had Aura meters earlier on arena fights. You clock someone in the jaw, their Aura drops by 10 points. It's literally a second health bar. Or rather, the health bar since once your Aura is down, all bets are off.
At the very least, I presume that Aura is quite literally like a second skin of sorts; when Yang's arm came off, it wrapped around the stump immediately to keep her from bleeding out. Might also explain how Blake was able to walk and carry Yang away.
@Raven: Well, we only have Qrow's word on that. It doesn't necessarily paint her as evil but it does make her kind of a jerk. I think I even posted something like this here earlier; she dislikes Ozluminati methods, but opposes Cinder and Her Boss, because duh, these ladies are evil.

I don't think aura is just mere second skin. If that was the case, characters would die from any stronger than average smack, because, while skin is not penetrated, their internal organs are a mush due to the shock of impact. Aura has to protect entirety of body on at least cellular level.

To add more to this, maybe it's not his Semblance, but a secret technique he picked up somewhere. Or that the weapon has a sword skill that activates in certain circumstances.
He had enough armor skill points for Punishing Draw.
*Gasp* It's the mask!

Well I worded myself poorly. >.>
Still, regardless of what it is, Aura does seem to try and patch up any damage that slipped past it. Blake got stabbed in the gut, but still had enough in her to use her Semblance, so perhaps that is simply something Adam's sword does?
Well, we won't know until he or Raven make appearances (if their swords are even similar to each other)
@Fertrad: the volume 2 intro song implied the villains were of the Well-Intentioned Extremist archetype and/or that the Brotherhood isn't as heroic as they make themselves out to be. I could see Raven being one of the villains just as much as a neutral party opposed to both.

I'm guessing whatever secrets Ozpin is keeping from everyone has something to do with it. Even Ironwood was starting to distrust his leadership after his response to the impending crisis was "we wait".
Maybe he accidentally set the apocalypse in motion, and is too ashamed to admit it or something like that, or too paranoid to share his plan of action with others, ie Raven and, assuming they're separate people, Cinder's master.
